A mini-review....of the MOTOYUVA W230
Dis is my very fist review pls pardon for errors.
Moto yuva W230 is targeted to people who are looking for low budget phone supporting MP3 player but not Camera. The phone weighs only 80g and it’s technical specifications boasts of talktime of 9 hours and standby time of 450 hours. The phone also has Crystal Talk technology for background noise reduction in noisy environments. The phone neither has bluetooth nor infrared but come with data cable for transferring music files from computer into the phone which is just plug and play.
The phone is also WAP enabled. It is capable of storing up to 500 SMS messages and offers microSD card expansion supporting as much as 2GB. The 500 entry phonebook comes in very handy as does the web browser and email. Viewable in 7 different African languages as well as Hinglish, Bengali, Tamil, Telegu, Catalan, Basque and Galician, the Motorola W230 is available in 2 colour variants; lustrous silver and dark titanium grey.
The W230 is a simple phone, so it doesn’t offer any extravagant features. However, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t try to deliver. From the Media point of view the W230 seems VFM. The FM radio is easy to use and has superb reception, even while commuting inside the train. It includes auto scanning and setting presets. The Motoyuva W230 is a slight upgrade from the previous Motoyuva that was simply a basic radio mobile. The new version promises to be a step ahead by incorporating an MP3 player.

[BREAK=OTHER VIEWS]
The phone though simply designed, has loads of features to offer. The phone is equipped with a music player and an FM. Besides it also has a 2 GB memory expansion option apart from the 256MB microSD card it offers.
The phone uses Crystal Talk technology for cutting out on the external disturbances faced while talking in crowded places.
The phone supports iMelody, MIDI, MP3, AMR audio files for its player but it is not possible to create a continuous play list for hearing the music on the extended memory. It is very disappointing since this feature is missing which should have been made mandatory. The sound of the earphones is quite loud and appealing. The FM quality is also reasonably good.
The phone?s unique feature allows messaging in Hinglish and also supports other Indian languages like Bengali, Tamil and Telegu. The phone does not have a camera and in a way it is best not to combine substandard features in one phone, which is competitively priced. There are not many games to offer and on top of it does not support Java, which automatically crosses out on most of the good available games. It is good value for money as it tries to provide more than basic features for the users and tries to manage the phone for its utility and entertainment.
The slow response of the cell is unique as Motorola. The applications and the messaging take a lot of time to respond. Nokia users will not find the user interface and the slow response of the cell very appealing. The small display and the shortcomings of the phone are a compromise to the offer made by Motorola at this price. Targeted at college crowd this phone suits well to all classes and is a good buy.
[BREAK=CONCLUSION]
Priced at mere 2800/- this phone is definitely worth. It has a player and FM and the sound quality is commendable. It lacks the user friendliness and the slow response of the phone to its applications is annoying at times. The phone doesn't play the music files stored in the memory card in a continuous manner which is quite boring to click the play button again n again. But the cheap pricing v/s the features and the utility the cons fall considerably short. It was my sis's utility buy which has served my purpose.
Got dis cell for my sis....she likes it a lot...
PROS
VFM
great features n good bundle
plug n play transfer via usb cable
good music playback n FM reception.
CONS
Lacks bluetooth n infrared
not userfriendly, lacks java support
sluggish response
