Want Money Investing Advice

Anyone?

1. How do I go about buying a few US stocks off NYSE (maybe some off UK's FTSE) as an Indian citizen and non-US resident?

2. Any options similar to but other than E-Trade?

3. Is it necessary to create a demat account to fund the initial purchase?

4. Is it necessary to create a demat account to again withdraw (cash out) the investment a few years away from now? (I know rules may change by then).

I want to put some money in Tokyo Electric Power Company.I did that with Satyam and financed a couple of my upgrades

Well I'm checking out this e-trade thing which seems promising.Need some reviews from non-us guys before opening an account with them.Thanks for your help.

just checked and Tokyo Electric seems to have made a 25% gain with the nuclear situation coming under control :-/ Good for them but I wish I could've made some money out of it
