Hi,
I'm looking to buy a new RAM for my PC. The details are
Motherboard - Gigabyte H55M-S2
Processor - Intel core i3-540 ( I think its first generation )
GPU - Sapphire HD 7750
PSU - Corsair 430 V2
I've been upto a bit of research on RAM's and I apparently understand that 1600 RAM is supported from Intel 3rd generation processors onwards. However the product page of my Motherboard shows listed support for RAMs with 1600 & Intel Core i3 processors ( generation not stated though). The intel page states support upto 1333 mhz. Please help me with this dilemma. I'm not looking to OC the computer.
Also, should I buy one stick of 8 GB or 2 * 4 GB? Looking to buy either a Corsair or G.Skill Ram within a budget of 3000, however open to other manufacturers too. Primary usage - some casual gaming, HD movies / Videos.
Here are the links to the page of my processor & motherboard
ARK | Intel® Core? i3-540 Processor (4M Cache, 3.06 GHz)
GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1156 - GA-H55M-S2 (rev. 1.3)
