Shud be reliable, secure and the brokerage rates should be low

Indiabulls experience got sour when i came to know that the agents themself did some tradings on my accounts to meet their individual brokerage targets. .

Need someone honest and reliable this time

Thanks in advance

^ Sharekhan! ? ....I just opened a account with them about 1 month back.....
Demat + E-Trading , no delivery notes , SMS alerts for (Rs.100 pm) , 1st Yr. account opening free....Buy / Sell on Phone......Charges after 1 yr = 300rs per annum including e-trading + demat charges.

They have these special plans. Check which suits your needs the best. The guy will come to your place and explain and give you a demo and everything.
Oh! yes, pre / post mailers also right in your mailbox......Special Market exposure on your "already" held shares. I.e if u dont have funds but u have shares u can lock the shares and get leverage to trade with the pre-existant shares and then pay up incase u go in for delivery..Ofcourse T+2..

Exposure is 4x....i.e if u have 5k in the sharekhan acc. then exposure is 4x i.e can buy till 20k. its good in a way....

I have no clue. abt the rest. Just found the services decent and I wanted an all online facility hence........

Do check out if they have the service available in your city...they have decent phone + chat support as well...

I personally have had a "bad" experience with ICICI and also I was suggested by someone against it....

I have a account with Angel Broking, no problems till date. they also send you weekly market report, very useful when you don't have time to crack market health daily

Mom has a account with Religare Securities, she opened with for investing it in R Power IPO, after the account it idle for months now:P

althouth they still send state SMS alerts and statements

Dad also holds a account in India bulls, no problems yet.

so far never faced problems:D

IMO, it depends more on the your Broker, then broking company because rules can be bended on brokers will. brokers have lot of powers with them.

Try reading the Terms & condition when you sign up for a new account, it covers everything.

So find reliable & trustful guys who are in business for years, not the typical fly-by-night operators.

i guess the one u mentioning here is the trading one where u continuously buy and sell and the one he is mentioning is from investor perspective

Does any Indian demat account provider has the service to buy stocks in nyse or nasdaq etc? if not, then where should i be looking? I'm off topic, but a single reply with a good reference will fix me.

thanks!

I have tried UTI Sec, Anand Rathi & HDFC Sec.

I found HDFC to be best of the lot.

Everything is online & happens in one go.

UTI was the most terrible. They even auctioned my shares even after I had closed my Demat & had aske dfor txfer of share to HDFC. Matter is with SEBI now.

Anand Rathi is also not good as u need to call them when u txfer money fro trading. Brkergae rates are lowest in Rathi, then in UT & highest n HFC. But is still cheaper than ICICI which just rips u apart :)

I am now using only HDFC.. Great interface & no trouble in last 5 years or may be longer

I have had not so good time with Indiabulls lately. Though I have an account for last 2+ years. Thinking of HDFC as so far I have liked their services (i.e other than demat stuff).

Sharekhan is the top, I opened an account last year and havent had any issues, and pretty pleased with it, give it a try.

Well guys i have many demat account..I am trader as well as investor for NSE BSE.

1.ICICI 10 times direct exposure

2.HDFC Used only for cash. They have exposure as well.

3.Indiabulls 5 times exposure

4.Religare securities (Trading account with ODIN Terminal)

5.Jaypee Capitals (with trading terminal)

I liked Religare Securities very much for trading and investing. They have fastest service at nominal Brokerage.Exposure is 5 to 10 times.Trading time opening bell to closing bell with all stocks. For Intra day trading Worst thing is website-trading.Use only Direct Terminals like ODIN.

icicidirect has 'international trading' option. I never activated it though so am not sure what exchanges it supports.

u can try reliance money. has the lowest brokerage. service is not the best in the world but if u want a brokerage account u can go for it. It was very bad when i opened it last year in october. but its improving.
I have an account with sharekhan , Icici and reliance.
Reliance - Lowest brokerage , Ordinary service
ICICI - best service, highest brokerage
Sharekhan - Balanced
