Want to Overclock, please help!!

Hey, i risked it and decided to OC it anyway. Here is what i've done so far.
@ CPU Multiplier 6x & Bus Frequency 800mhz
1. RAM @ 667mhz, highest stable CPU frequency reached = 215. Anything higher than that, computer abruptly shuts down. I use orthos for the stability testing.
2. RAM @ 533mhz, highest stable CPU frequency reached = 228.

Temps were below 50 on the above settings. Now please tell me the next step i should be taking. Besides increasing the CPU multiplier, what else can be done to increase the performance?
Downloading everest now to check if there is any discrepancy, n thnx again.
 
if u make ur bus frequency 800 mhz, then ht multiplier becomes 4x. so whenenever cpu freq goes over 250, ur ht exceeds 1000mhz and ur machine becomes unstable.

to get higher clocks, i'll suggest u do two things..

first drop the ht further,say 600. then it will take it out of the equation till around 330 mhz.

next select manual in DRAM timing mode and loosen the CAS, tRCD, tRP and tRAS timings, to say 5-5-5-12 as x suggested. also change the voltage to 1.9v.keep the command rate to 1T.

another thing u can do, change the cpu voltage from auto to 1.3v.the temps seem okay so a li'l bump wouldnt matter.but keep an eye on it. and disable cool and quiet. running cnq and oc'ing put a li'l too much stress on psu :)
 
Well there is no option for changing the timing mode for the RAM. I can only change the Voltage and clock frequency. At what ram clock frequency should i be doing the above settings?

what happens when you select manual in here?

in case you cant change the timing..try lowering the ram and ht ratio and increasing the ram voltage a bit to see if u can get higher fsb.

both this board and processor is capable of doing more. follow the steps i had given in the last post.
 
When timing mode is set to auto memory clock frequency is also set to auto automatically. If timing mode is set to manual, then we can change the clock frequency, no option for changing the CAS, latency (not sure wat i'm saying :-)).....etc.
 
Computer refuses to boot, doesnt even show the POST at the following settings. Had to Clear RTC RAM.
Bus frequency 600mhz
RAM frequency 533mhz
CPU frequency 210mhz
RAM Voltage 1.9v
CPU multiplier 6x
CPU Voltage 1.3v

What could be wrong?
 
ok..a quick googling has shown me that the max stable oc seen on this board is 230 mhz, so i'll say u've pretty much reached the limit.

i'll suggest u change the ram speed to 667 and up the voltage there a bit(1.9v) to see if u can get higher fsb there.

if that doesnt help, try giving a bit more volts to the nb, say 1.3v.
 
I have hit the ceiling with the following settings, other settings are at default.
HT Freq = 800mhz
CPU Multiplier = 10x
CPU Frequency = 225mhz
DDR Voltage = 1.9v
DDR Freq = 667

Anything i can do more to push it up? Will it hurt if i increase the DDR Voltage?
 
u might try, but remember to run memtest86 at least 5-6 passes. though i dont know how much it will help.

one thing you can do, note the model no of ur memory sticks and do a bit of googling..what is its default voltage, how much oc have others gotten from it etc. that will give u an idea of how high u might go with the ram without any fear..

but still u've got a 225 mhz oc from a budget motherboard, commendable
