Hello Everyone,

I want to send some money to our amazing forum member - raksrules for helping me buy "Something ENORMOUS" from USA:hap2: Good news is he has just created a new paypal account, so I can send him money via Paypal. But rakrules if worried that my payment to him(small amount, less than $200) would be a GIFT & there are some US specific rules for that.

so need to know if there would any issues if I send Money to raksrules from my Indian Paypal a/c to his US Paypal account?

Frequent shoppers, Please advice:D

You simply can't pay as "Gift" from Indian Paypal account. It has to be for Goods, Services or eBay Items. Either way, he will have to incur Paypal fees.

I am not sure if what you pay this way would be considered as a "Gift" in his hands.

If what esantosh is saying is true then the OP would have only option to pay in INR to my local bank account i guess.

Yup, that's correct. In India, Paypal has stopped personnel payments.

However, Paypal fee is a non-issue as I will send as Payment for Services & will bump the final amount by few dollars to cover 3.9% Paypal fees for International Payments.

Yup, This is something I don't know about. I don't want him to incur any fees, taxes or penalty etc. If fees are applicable, I want to know the exact amount. so I can bear it. He has already done some much for me;)

Its true but the money can still be be sent. Only disadvantage with sending you money as "Payment for service" is that I will have incur 3.9% Paypal fees which I will bear;)

You cannot use Amazon Payments yet!

Enable Full Account Functionality

Set up your Amazon Payments account to access more payment services. You will able to deposit and withdraw funds from your Amazon Payments account to your bank account, send money to friends and family, and pay without re-entering your shipping address and credit card number everywhere Amazon Payments is accepted.

Contact Information Money transfer services are currently only available in the United States

We have finalized to deal in INR only, local to local bank. This will iron out all issues :)

Thanks for all the help rendered.

Just deposit in personal indian account of raks and someone from raks family remit it back to raks that way both of you might be safe considering the tax rules.

Btw raks when you started this service, pehla bola hota.I too would have asked you some stuff as my no loss ancestor stays in us.
