you guys are kidding right? aoc is the most ****ed up mmo there ever was.

i guess you didn't hear the news about the aoc server merges which in other words means the game is dying.

get a life dude......just try the game before making such lame comments...aoc is not at all ****ed up... its one of the best i have played...
people left because of bugs and lack of endgame content...and believe me after pvp patch ..the no. of people playing has increased a lot...

what makes you think i haven't tried the game? and how can you say that it's one of the best you played when you can acknowledge that there are bugs and content is missing. not to mention features that were promised at launch are still not implemented.

also, they just announced aoc server mergers which acknowledges that there are not enough people playing to keep all the realms up. so no, the number of players is not increasing.

Guys...put down them knives yeah?

We're talking games here :)
We don't all wanna see *'s in every post in TE do we? :)

Come on have some cake.

haven't tried AoC or WAR but both look terrible from the gameplay videos after playing WoW. However, even WoW suffers from the typical MMO grinditis when you want to raid seriously. leveling was fun but once i had to spend 6+ hours a day just to prepare for a raid or risk getting kicked out of the guild, i knew it was time to quit.

so either you want to raid and you stick around with said guild. or you don't want to raid, leave the guild and find another one. what's the problem?

Levelling is a bit of a pain in WAR. BGs and PQs are But then again I am only lvl 13 so dunno if it gets better. I like the BGs and the PQs. Levelling could use a small speed increase IMO. But i see quite a few lvl 40s already, and game has been out for 2ish weeks, cant blame developers for trying to slow down the levelling.

I really hope they fix the fps though. Towns are a slideshow at times. My CPU usage is at 100%. Game is not utilizing the video card i think, so lot more stress on the CPU. If game was smooth, no complaints from my part.
A64 3200+, 2gb ddr, 8600GT should get decent fps at 1024*768, settings on low, but i get an average of 20ish fps(varying constantly from 5-40) and there is a lot of stuttering.

I don't mind the levelling, but they have got to fix the fps issue. I know its not a problem with my system, as people with quad cores, xfire 3870s AND 8gb ram monster systems are reporting fps issues.

yup i'm hearing about performance issues a lot, especially ati card users.

i have a question though... it's another complaint i'm hearing. i'm not especially clear on the terms used to bear with me here... more than a few people are saying the the pvp progression has passed them by. i think the pvp scenarios or public quests are called tiers or something? people are saying that it's already difficult to find others doing the earlier tier content. is that true and if so, why?

and pay 20 CAD a month to simply hang around Azeroth and Outland? the only thing left for me in the game at that point of time was raiding. PVP never really grabbed me. farming heroics for loot was also pointless if i couldn't raid.

i guess it's a little difficult for us to see the same point of view considering you left a very long time ago (before the black temple went live yea?).

the game has been made very casual friendly since then... extremely casual friendly. gold flows in like water now... gone are the days where you end up spending 3 hours grinding mats for enchanting your new gear or whatever. they've introduced new zones, new instances, new and much easier to acquire top level gear and what not. there's also different guilds at different levels of raiding... some are top 100 guilds that go for world firsts and play hardcore like you mentioned, but then there are others as well who only raid 10 man instances on weekends. and there's a full spectrum of guilds in between these two. just a matter of finding whatever suits you.

lol i'm fully aware of all this. i renewed my account 2 months back and played for around two weeks. still found it super boring. so i tried leveling a new character but it felt like something i've already done before. /quit /uninstall.

there's nothing in the game that suits me now. i'd rather play something that requires some skill. i might buy WOTLK just for kicks cuz i love the Warcraft Universe but i'm sure i'll quit once i get to 80. the game just doesn't have any re playability for me.

PvP tiers are 1-4(1-11, 12-21, 22-31, 32-40), each of which has multiple scenarios, but which anyone can queue and join from anywhere.
Right now, populations are not well balanced. More people play Destruction than Order. Also some scenarios are unplayed(due to terrain, game type etc), while others are played more. It depends on the server basically, some have queue times of few mns, while others have more than an hour. I play on Red Eye Mountain, and the queue time is around 10-15 mns average, since its a US server and not many people play our time.

Mythic is working on population fixes, so things should improve. They are gonna give exp bonus to underpopulated realms, so more people will reroll.
If things don't work out, they might cluster servers together, like in DAoC & WoW.

ah thanks for the reply. i was quite excited about warhammer some time back but after playing the cluster**** that was aoc at release, i promised myself i wouldn't go for a launch mmo again.

i'm happy to wait for wotlk to launch and that should hold my interest for a few months at least. after that if warhammer is still going strong i'll probably jump in and get it.
