So from what I read..

WD 1TB Black (WD1001FALS) 7200/3 Platter /32MB Cache - 6.9k

WD 1TB Green (WD10EADS) Variable/3 Platter /32MB Cache - 5.9k

WD 1TB Green (WD10EACS) Varaiable/See Below/16MB Cache - 5450 shipped by rahul or less by others(5.3k).

3 platter EACS:

WD10EACS-65D6B0

-00D6B0

-00D6B1

4 platter EACS:

WD10EACS-00ZJB0

-32ZJB0

-00C7B0

I think I'll get 2 of these 3 platter EACS, they perform well enough, run cool and quite. Good VFM.

what say?

Also Seagate 1TB 12 series should be available within this week with 'the dealer' here.

They would be more VFM (7200rpm /2 Platter / 32mb cache / 160MB/s data throughput / Area density 329Gb/in²) if priced around 5.8k or even at 6.

And I dunno how many of you are aware, but Seagate has cut down on warranties.

All Barracuda 7200RPM drives will have 3 year warranty from now on... :@

Even my new 7200.12 500G reflects 3 years on the warranty page

Thanks for the details mr47, prime has reduced the prices as follows checked today:

1tb WD = Rs.5.2K

1tb Seagate = 5.2K

500gb WD = Rs.2.25K

WD 1TB Green (WD10EACS) Variable/3 platter/16MB Cache

Can any one tell me where can i get it ?

I already tried Sujat, Data Care and S'tech Computers but no luck, everyone has seagate 1TB wirh 5 years warranty.

DCC has it for around 5.8k :P

Order from Prime for 5.2k + 160 shipping :) I just got mine today ;)
 
what is the difference between WD WD10EACS and WD10EADS except 16mb and 32 mb buffer ?

What you guys suggest which one should i buy out off this two HDD ?
