not sure about the np price. but ill let u know the pirce in mumbai so i guess the delhi price should be similar.

wd 250gb passport = 5200rs.
wd 500gb mybook (esata firewire usb) = 6000rs
wd 750gb mybook (esata firewire usb) = 8900rs

500 gb USB WD - 4.8 K

500 gb WD - 4 k via amabir lynx , smc rates on phone - 4400 :(

500 gb Segate - 4500 + at SMC

hey 200 mph: u talkin about external hdd's?? i mean ta 500gb wd @ 4k is just too sweet a deal.. an who/ what is amabir lynx??

yeah.. i thot so.. anyways the wd for 4800 is sweet aswell.. !!

an hey u gt any idea bout wat the diff in speed is between firewire an usb ones.. an is it poss 2 attach an external sata drive 2 a lappy??

just wondering whethr to spend extra an go for the usb/firewire/esata ones or the plain vanilla usb ones.. although at 1200 bucks the diff is massive..!

got the wd my book essential for 4.6k from ce today.

Had gone 2 np thinking il buy 750gb or 1tb but they were qouted exorbitantly @ 8k and 12.5k respectively.

So thought il buy 500gb rite now, and when its filled up by that time il get a 1tb for probably like 5k.. hahaha :> :)

hey.. just wondering if any1's got an idea bout this:

the hdd is currently fat32 format. Should i convert it to ntfs or not?

yes you should otherwise you can't keep files greater than 2gb in size on it...typically all games/hd movies are more than 2gb...

an if i convert it now, i would lose all data already stored stored on it rite? probably have to take a backup of the data before right?
