okay guys i am in a big dilemma , about what hdd to get . i know the Seagates .11 series , but i did not find a hand to hand comparison with the seagate 750gb drives.

what inclines me towards the 750GB WD is its price :D - 6 K

and the seagate sells for around 6.7 k

well WD750 is much better IMO me gettin it too...so get it if u want it.....there is a BIG diff in 750 and 1 TB pricing lol....btw frm where ur gettin for 6k man....?

heheh , some contacts :D it is gonna be close to 6 k i am not sure . still it will be the best pricing :D. incase u also want we can go some time soon in this month and get our hands on it. just waiting for some people to pick up their verbs .

my luck :(i already bookd 1 from ferarri (yantraonline.in) nd gettin it for 6.3 approx why didnt u tell me before lol:XXXXX:) nyways if i get 1st then ill tell u how fast it is....:D

for 250, 320, 500 & 750GB I would buy Seagate 7200.10 (250) or 7200.11 (320, 500 & 750) currently :)

I only like WD Raptor 150GB, WD6400AAKS 640GB & WD Caviar GP 1TB currently

6.3 k to your place vjam . then i might also go for it . whos gonna burn 200 bucks petrol + 100 bucks food at NP

I'd spend the extra 700 bucks for Seagate service and peace of mind :)

wrong reason to avoid WD as 2 of my local friends one had WD 320GB & one had WD 500GB rma'ed their hdd's & got back a new one in 5 days flat with free home pickup & delivery ;)

Seagate had taken 6 days to rma my 300GB in July 2006 without free home pickup & delivery :)

whereas Hitachi took 2 months to rma my 320GB without free home pickup & delivery :@

for Samsung the lesser said the better :P

Samsung & Hitachi I'm avoiding like plague from now on

^ Yea, but your in Kolkatta, here in Goa, I doubt those WD guys will have an office even lol.

but you were telling "200mph" to buy Seagate for peace of mind & service which I just said was a wrong reason as he is in New Delhi :)

the only reason to buy Seagate currently is Raw Speed :ohyeah:

anish i think , its not with WD but its a tie up with a courier company that they have so unless u are in a place very remote it should not be a problem. and i am not worried about RMA . all i want to know is a good fast drive or not. coz the seagate is faster but by how much ? any one got a idea about it ??

^^dunno about that but you must ahve seen the thread in this section about the terrific seagate .11 NCQ performance

and seagate rma aint that bad...i got replacement in 2 days in guwahati....had to go to the service center though
