18GB hdd is mentioned as 5400RPM however in the crystal diskinfo is showing as 7200RPM. What will happend if we received HDD dead on arrival?

Tip- On windows 18 TB requires 8KB allocation unit size (cluster size), not really a problem for big files. The 16 TB drive still can use 4K because the drive is actually 14.5 TB.

Its sata drive, if you can read label carefully under model number. You can find more info here:
 
If you don't mind, could you post which models of external drive you shucked these from and what the purchase/manufacturing dates were? Would be useful for those of us shucking ourselves, because the shucking data from overseas sometimes has different model numbers.

Sorry can't help you, I bought them as bare drives.

You can enter the serial numbers on https://support-en.wd.com/app/warrantystatusweb and that will tell you some info. For example 3GHN3WDK has this info.
