i have a WD My Passport essential 320 GB USB 2.0 which is not working properly.To be precise when iam transfering large amount of data like 700mb- 80 gb it doesnt get transfered and its get hanged in only 300 mb data only and it also doesnt get cancaled and when iam tranfering small amount of data say like 50mb-100mb it gets tranfered.so what might be the problem. its in warranty
1.with the hard disk
2.with the usb cord
3.anything else
 
You may first check if their is enough capacity.

Then check the cord you use for connecting the HDD, it may damaged

Also you can check the ports on both the HDD and also on your Laptop/PC.

The most common error I am seeing is that your HDD may be formatted in Fat32 FILE SYSTEM which cannot handle

files larger than 4GB.

You may have to re-format hard drive into NTFS system.
