Hi All..

I Have a 2 or 3 week old WD MyBook 1 TB. Using a Windows 7 PC.

I bought it and connected it on Windows XP. It was working fine.
I changed to Windows 7 about 1 week back. At first no issues at all.
Then 2 or 3 days later the USB device was not showing up in the My Computer.

When i reconnected it it shows "USB Device Not Recognized" baloon pop-up in the task bar. Then i remembered, I forgot to install the Win 7 chipset drivers for my Intel DP35DP mobo. installed it and the device was detected.

And now its not detecting again.

what is the pblm?

Jerin

And i just connected it to my WHS machine...

It was detected and working now...

Is it a HDD issue or OS issue?... so far on net it saying OS issue. Anyone else facing this? Any solutions?

does it detect in MMC in disk management console ? right click computer > manager and disk management, does it detect there ?

Check in safe mode, n see what happens ?

Can u try a different interface, as ur using it with USB, Try firewire interface and check for consistency,

if its externally powered , can u try with a different socket or UPS

@ryan...

it shows up with yellow icon... unknown device

@Akshay

It used to for me... but not now...

But now working in my WHS machine...

Well if u have a bang(exclamation or a question mark) its no issue with HDD, reinstall windows . try burning disk at low speeds such as 8x, and redownload, such issues happen when files have attribute issues while burning
