Hi guys,
Just wanted to know if anyone of has sent their External Harddrives to WD for RMA
If yes,then how much time does it take before you receive a replacement ?
I sent my WD 640GB MyBook Essential to WD service center at Delhi on 16th July and GATI record indicate that they have delivered the drive at the destination on 17th july

But i still haven't recevied my Replacement Drive :huh:
I thought it usually takes 5-7 working days :S
 
I had sent a 160GB 2.5" ext and a 1 TB ext on 17th.. got the replacement for 160GB drive on 24th i think.. the other drive hasn't been returned yet :\

I guess,i need to call them and check it up !!
 
WD is generally fast to collect but lethargic when it comes to giving a replacement.

last time it took 2 weeks to get a replacemnt for my drive. have given one more last week lets see how much time that takes now.
 
Hey guys, need some help here.

I got a replacement 750Gb aacs for my 640gb aaks about 2 months back. It is showing out of warranty, and I told them about the same problem when i received the drive. Since then I have made repeated calls, emails to them but these people are just apathetic to my cause. Can anyone advise what I should do?
 
it's abt 3 months going, my BRAND NEW 1 TB WD HDD (DOA-even w/o a single hr of usage) has gone for 3 RMA successive ,back to back without any proper working model given in all during the time by WD.My Drive is still in RMA.God knows what they will send this time!!!
I grief abt the time, i choose a WD drive!!!,.so byers beware!
 
^^ don't mean to scare u bro..but that's has been a reality experience to me..mayb, i ,the single unfortunate one,busted my luck somewhere to enjoy the best of HDD grief!!!

or is it, that all HD manufacturers today,r only producing sub quality stuffs due to huge decrease in price to provoke sales & make profit,so quality & reliability doesNOT matter anyMore???
 
I have seen that WD sents the replacement for small capacity of HD very Quickly

Like 160GB's and 250GB's arrive within 10-12 days while capacity of 500GB and plus takes a while to get delivered
 
my WD HDD model and version gets detected by BIOS but the capacity is not getting detected and hangs... is it a DOA ?

If its detected by the BIOS then it can't be a DOA
Try formatting the drive ?
Try it on another machine,maybe that helps
