go go go ask KMD.

Only concern was MKV and it supports.

Should we wait a lil for reviews to rip it apart and see if it stands the test?

100$ looks pretty col though. Similarly specced TViX module costs a bomb in here that too w.o the HDDs.

I saw these yesterday at buy.com and it's awesome. For $100, it's really worth every penny and a boon for the HDTVs :)

*Note:
- MPEG2/4, H.264, and WMV9 supports up to 1920x1080p 24fps, 1920x1080i 30fps, 1280x720p 60fps resolution
- An audio receiver is required for surround sound output. AAC/Dolby Digital decodes in 2 channel output only
- JPEG does not support CMYK or loss less.
- BMP supports uncompressed format only.
- TIF/TIFF supports single layer only.

this supports eveything .. mkv n all ... all formats and best parts it detects hdd in fat 32 , ntfs too . defiantely VFM .. tvix is soo exp around like 27 k damm not worth at all .. this is simply brillaint ...

popcorn hour .. menus is too sluggist have seen it .. my friend bougt one in u.s and testd in and plays all format u throw at it very smoothy. can play 1080 full hd rips wihtout any kind of lags !!!!

how does this connect to an amp to get surround sound? hdmi? if so, that would require a fairly new av receiver with an hdmi in. unless, there is some other way to get DD 5.1 and DTS signals from this.

Plugging it in to my current AV setup was very easy. This device not only boasts an optical SPDIF output, it also supports audio over HDMI, though no bitstreaming support for HD audio formats (more on that later).

he other essential setting is to switch the audio output to “digital”, otherwise it’ll just play two channels even if you’re connected via SPDIF.
, ergo, SPDIF (optical) works just fine.

@TH: couldnt see web(non)sense. Will update you once i am home, it surely looks promising and i am in.

I brought down something of this sort on my last singapore visit. It costed somewhere around 3K landing in india. It plays all media including divx etc as well.

As a compliment it also plays photographs too :) equipped with IR remote and various cable i found VFM solution for playing media stored in a 2.5" HDD that too light in weight as well on pocket. :D

Good news, can you post the model numbers? If possible photos of the unit?
