I am planning for 2 x 500GB HDDs, should I opt one for performance (Seagate) and one for peace of mind (WD). Most of the reviews were 50-50 between them.

Seagate 500GB 7200.12 32MB

WD 500GB 7200.12 32MB

Final thoughts?

+1 for WD, cause of the reliability ... the performance advantage of the seagate wouldn't be much evident in most real world situations anyway.

I was told that WD 500GB 7200.12 32MB is not there, only 16MB is there? Guys any specific model Blue/Green/Black - I don't want Black though, is 32MB available in Blue / Green ?

There is no 500GB 7200.12 32mb in Seagate - its 16MB version only
only 1TB ones come with 32MB

1.i have 2 7200.12 and a total of five ST hdds in my cabinet....WD is showing some extra smartness by offering blue green black red orange yellow

2.We shouldnt worship brands , worship a product...7200.12 500gb single platter is a great product so buy that
