I have been using Pioneer Broadband for about a year now. Last month i've been noticing my wifi speed and desktop internet speed (connected via lan cable through wifi router) slowing down . The wifi router in question is EDIMAX BR-6324nL.
1. When the internet cable is directly connected to the pc lanport, i get the proper 10 mbps speed.
2. Internet cable connected to my wifi router running lan cable via router to my pc. I get only 1 mbps speed!!!
Now i've run a couple of test's. The router has been reset, hard reset, firmware changed, firmware upgraded, downgraded, changed the wifi settings, changed it to ppoe, changed it to dynamic ip. The speed still caps till 1 mbps.
I've taken this router to a friend's house as well and checked the beam/act brodband connection. Full speeds work fine. I even restarted the router and did a hard reset as well, just to be sure. i get the 20mpbs speeds!!!. I've checked the pc for any malware, virus scan etc etc.. nothing to be found by eset nod32 . Disabled anitvirus and checked as well. Still the same issue. I've even formatted my p.c just for the sake of it. Issue still prevails, Contacting the tech team of pioneer are a bunch of stupid's, they said they will get their router to check it further till date no reply.
2nd test i've even ran it on my laptop to check. Issue is the same. I even picked a wifi dongle as well and connected it to my p.c. Issue is the same. Basically no matter what i do, whenever the internet try to get shared through wifi router or wifi dongle, the speeds get limited to 1 mbps. Wierd thing, i stopped using my router for the past 10 days, recently when the tech guy to show him the problem. my wifi router actually started showing 10 mbps speed, however after restart it got capped again to 1mbps!!. Tech guy saw this and said he'll be back from past 2 days!!
I do a know a fair bit of troubleshooting, however do you think this is the ISP fault from their side or is it something im missing?
I do plan to pick up a new router to check, however that gonna happen next month only. Any advice on this networking peeps?
