Weird problem with tatasky hd

Started having this problem from yesterday. The box is starting up to a no signal message and asks me to power off and start after 10mins. No matter what i do or what button i press, i only see that black screen with no signal message.
Our building terrace is locked and so no one can touch the dish. I thought heavy winds might have shifted the lnb a bit, but the weird thing is after around 8:45 - 9pm i get the services normally. Its like nothing happened.
The sky is so clear now, not even a single cloud nor rain, and the dumb box is still giving errors of no signal. :annoyed:

when i switch on the box after putting it in standby for a few minutes, i get that tatasky channel 100 for few seconds. but it goes away to be replaced by the same stupid message.
is there any way to check the signal quality on a hd box through hdmi?

whats wrong with it? anyone faced a problem like this before?
 
Why not try resetting the STB once ? There's a key combination of 3 keys which I don't exactly remember (its 0+1+select). Look in manual or ask CC. Google says may be the new s/w has a direct option of reset.
 
happening with reliance big tv hd as well for last 2 days, maybe some satellite issue?
 
had a talk with the cc. an engineer will come tomorrow. I'll let him do the troubleshooting. i searched and there's no reset in the software. there is no hardware reset button too. maybe it might be there in normal sd/hd box, mine is a hdpvr.
i think its internal battery (if it has one, might have conked off). the date shows 1st Jan 12:00am, which is very similar to linux which defaults to 1st Jan 1970 12:00AM.
@axeman, it could be possible. are tatasky and reliance both on same satellite?

there is a solar storm happening since 24th of september and most likely will last till 10th october, you may encounter disturbances in reception and signal quality.

This is common to all DTH and satellite based services.

I am on Airtel DTH and I got this message a few days back. so dont worry be barf!
