Weird Requirements: Please Suggest a Phone

My friend asked me to suggest a phone. But considering her requirements, I am at a lack of candidates....!!! :S

I was practically dumbfounded with her requirements & have posted the extract of her mail here: :frusty:

Budget: Not an Issue. But it has to be a Brand New Phone.

Requirements:

1) Should be from a Good Brand (Nokia, SE, Samsung, HTC, etc.) No Micromax, Karbonn & others like it.

2) Should NOT have a Camera. Not even VGA.

3) In case it is a TouchScreen, it should be Capacitive & NOT Resistive.

4) It should have Expandable Memory upto 8GB atleast.

5) It should have Bluetooth.

6) It should have a 3.5mm Headphone Jack.

7) Should have GPRS. 3G is NOT Required.

8) Should have almost unlimited Message Capacity (atleast 1000 SMS) & almost unlimited Contacts storage capacity (atleast 1000 Contacts).

I suggested the Nokia C1-02 but it is yet to be launched... Are there any other options available for her??

Samsung Champ C3300 - 3.5k

It doesnt satisfy two of ur requirements. Resistive touch. But the touch wiz interface is good. Try it out.

Only 500 message storage but has 1000 contacts memory though.
 
Touchscreen is not a requisite. Just that in case its a touchscreen, it should be resistive. But which are the ones without camera?

^^ Touchscreen is not necessary but in case it is a touchscreen device, it MUST have a Capacitive touchscreen.

@ DarkAngel: I already suggested that but it got rejected as it has a RESISTIVE touchscreen. :S

I too thought so... But I just thought I might be missing on something...

Even sent a PM to Dhruv asking him about the possible release of the C1-02.
 
Camera these days is pretty much a standard feature in mobile phones. searching for phones WITHOUT camera is like searching for a new car without any air conditioning. you will be limited to entry level model only. no power steering,no music system,no airbags or no abs for you :P

so grab any of the entry level phones which comes without a camera
 
^^ there are some places where there are security issues with having camera on mobile phones. I'm surprised that there aren't options in the market for the requirements.
 
Actually there are versions of phones out there without cameras... i've seen the Droid without a cam but getting those ain't easy. Possibly via company orders ? Anyway... there is the old M600 but then its resistive. You will NOT get any capacitive TS phone without a cam.

Also consider the old E61. Excellent non-cam phone, very good as a PIM device.
 
The best non-camera phone available was the SE M600/W950 but again its resistive plus you'd not get a new piece of that phone.

I'd suggest her to buy any phone and get the camera module removed. That way she won't have to compromise on phone selection and she can add the camera back if she needs to re-sell it or get the camera back again.
 
You can buy a phone and have the camera removed for a fee. The LG Optimus One should be a good option, has Capacitive touch and Froyo.

^^ Exactly the point... Plus she doesn't want used phones and already has a BB Bold 2.

Removal of camera module won't be an option I guess.... Not coz she has said so but coz I really don't feel like suggesting it... :O



Thanx a lot to all of you... Seems like this thread is a waste... No such phone exists that has all the features she wants or lacks all the features she doesn't want... :@
