Nothing complicated u register the drive at their website. And create a rma request. U can then either drop it off or they come and pick it up for free at ur house. Within a week u get a new drive. Mine was done in Jan

Keep ur fingers crossed I ha the exact same drive and got a 2 TB in exchange. I love WD :-)
