Forum Feedback What about a TE IRC

Well I was discussing about this on TE`s sister site FE;

and eventually I found off that IRC is much more needed by TE than its need for FE.

Hence, I thought of posting this suggestion here.

However I thought a reference would be pretty nice, so here is the Link for you guys to check out who hangout at TE and FE as well;)

Well my proposal for deploying an IRC:-

1) It will boost the activity at the forum.

2) It will invite more interactive solution to one`s problem,

3) It will make interaction with Staffs much easier as we can very well have a support channel ;)

4) I will be nice place to hangout at, I hangout sometimes at some private forum IRC and believe me its really very awesome :D

5) It will help peopl interact in dynamic way and imo instant live chats are uncomparable to interactions on forums and SB!!

Guys whats you call, how you like the idea.

I will also like suggestion on mods on this, btw I have already posted a coomon mod here and there i.e. Safin into this, however I will love suggestion of TE mod as well, as many of them will be known to IRC and its technicalities ;)

Yeah right I see that, and I can very well see how deserted is that place, with no user active there at all;

and most importantly not even a single Network Admin, Sysop or Administrator hanging around out there.

No wonders simce the IRC is unofficial; it hasn`t been mentioned in forum`s main channel and the corresponding

tutuorial to join IRC isn`t available as well ;)

Thats why I am talking about staring an Official IRC Channel, run by TE Admins and Mods which would be announced to all and be shown all the time on Forum`s Main page so that it attract evebody`s attention;

and where people can turn up and chat with each other/ hangout; go to support channel and talk to Staffs about an issue.

I mean come on guys every forum has an official IRC - with an official mainpage advertisement and if possible include a Java Chat client within the web page to provide axx to those who are new to IRC Clients like mIRC/ XChat,

and not to forget TE is the best Tech forum so why can`t we have our own IRC for such great userbase ;)

Looking for Moderator`s reply ;)

@XTechManiac - Thanks for registering a nick at freenode with TE name, atleat we guys atmm can hangout there and discuss about this;

but the end of the day there wont be any point to my thread unless the mods look into and start an official on, which they maintiain and control ;)

Previous attempts have been fail, now I doubt if any of the mods/admins even have time for it :P. But lets see what they say.

Are you telling that mods would never gonna go ahead and create an official TE IRC;

or you dont support it all.

Well ofc its something which needs to be supported by fellow TEnclavians to happen as Setting Up and IRC Server or even hiring it on p2p2network, freenode, mbbit require hard cash;

so come one all those people who like this idea please show support this idea please./

And one more thing, so much time already passed that I have posted the thread, why hasn`t this got the attention of mod, and why one of them have even posted here./

You would find the answer to all your questions if you just use the search button more often.

This topic has been done to death. The pros and cons have been shredded to bits with the outcome being that there is pretty much no possibility of TE having an official chat/irc channel. Hence the earlier attempt to start an unofficial IRC channel.. which again, did not last long..

Too busy to convince people all over again! I still idle on a number of active IRC channels via my desktop and phone, and I would join the TE channel if people decided to turn up. TE isn't IRC-friendly! :P

i usually idle on #animestan on immortal-anime.net and occasionaly on #linux/#java/#ruby on freenode and #lurk on rizon

Why the hec I get a word from any moderator then????

And stalker, I used the search button after ur continous pestering, but I couldnot get any reply when I used ""IRC"" as the keyword ;)
