Tried a few like news in shorts etc. Went back to Google News on the browser.

One adv is that there is no continuous feed, so battery would be better off. That (asynchronous mode) may be a disadvantage, to some.

I use Feedly and Google Play Newsstand

Google Play Newsstand is good. Use it to aggregate news from Livemint, The Indian Express and Reuters India. I also use the NDTV app occasionally.
Used Flipboard for a week. Didn't like it at all.

Used to use greader.

Now switched over to scroll.in. It is excellent for India centric news - especially their 'daily fix' which includes summary and links to selected articles across newspapers (telegraph , indian express, hindu , qz, livemint, the conversation etc.). They have an app but never felt the need to use it.

Feedly - it imported all my stuff from Google Reader. Play newstand as well.
