I get on an average 300KB/s Download and 280KB/s upload speeds and am on iPhone 4. I think its pretty decent, and am in Mumbai. (Speedtest.net App)

Hey,

What plan are you on. Has this improved or decreased battery life (being on 3G). Is this connectivity as good as 2g?

TIA

Connectivity isn't as good as 2G at the moment because not all parts of Mumbai are covered, Battery life suffers a bit , but not much, its still very good overall, I didn't feel any improvement in call quality however.

I am on Postpaid 299 internet plan, and I got the 3G on trial, Vodafone in Mumbai would actually be launched full fledged in next month and that's when tariffs and plans would be advertised as well.

Speeds are pretty decent to me, I do get the 5 Megabits speed well exactly as some have mentioned here but, it isnt constant and always, it fluctuates upwards from 2Megabits~ to 5 megabits, more like the 'image' posted above.

i get around 260 kbs download in delhi on samsung wave..
It couldnt be a 3G connection with 260Kb/s of speed, I think morelikely you are talking about 260 Kilo 'Bytes' / second and not 'bit'

I am getting/seeing 3G signal/icon on my N900 but my speed is 350 Kbps (bits) and latency is 500+ ms according to mobilespeedtest.com - any ideas whats wrong?

Maybe I just need to wait a day for everything to be fully active, and also try at another location, somewhere outside my home.
