it is not advertised.

and maybe i should not say international warranty like im making a claim :P

it is just that sapphire and its partner/distributor AdityaInfotech Honours warranty for sapphire products which are not even bought from AdityaInfotech. I suppose they are Sapphire's sole distributors here. They have good reputation for their service.

only thing you will lose is warranty term.

it is 3yrs in india and 2yrs everywhere else.

in that sense you can afford a 2nd hand 5770 here without having to worry much at 7-7.5k budget :)

Actually the thing is that I will be moving to Canada in a years time and so thought of buying a new one from abroad rather than a second hand one from here (but that wont be a problem if Sapphire has international warranty, can someone confirm this? )

After moving, It will be superbly easy comparatively to claim warranty, and anyways if i buy a second-hand one from TE market it wont have full 3 years of warranty left :)

see the same thing can be bought over TE market for 7-7.5k

i bought a little better version for 7.5k and if you are willing to wait a little then you may get even a better deal.

warranty would be a little more than 2yrs and you wont be waiting as much as you would have to wait in case of purchasing overseas.

Actually a friend of mine is visiting the states so waiting wont be a problem, and isn't it better for me to get a new one rather than a second hand one?

(Although Im ready to buy if I can get the Hawk one for below 8k :P, but that won't have international warranty I reckon)

yup, do not spend much for OCed version for performance, you can cover that gap on your own.

One reason for buying the Hawk would be better cooling and power management.

you can anyways get on par cooling if you are open enough to modify a little, without having to void the warranty, the modifications would be reversible :)

i guess you will prefer modifying than having no warranty at all :P

So, what do you suggest?

Should I get this card for ~7k, or buy a second hand one around the same price range from TE market or maybe a better one? (But only If international warranty applies)

the next better card is HD5850 but that is almost twice the cost of this one. :P

you are better off buying from market.

im currently purchasing one more 5770 from raheelshabad for 7.5k shipped.

you may have to wait for the next one :P

or maybe you dont have to as im thinking about GTX460 too :P if i pass on this one :P

none in india if bought from there.
if you can afford upto 10k then get GTX460 768MB for that price.

i think xfx and eVGA offer lifetime warranty on gpus...none international though.

for warranty in india, try your luck with gigabyte, forum members have reported to have replaced gigabyte parts(purchased abroad) in india in past. but no official word on it.

As I said before, simply get MSI Hawk and you won't regret getting it ever, it has wonderful cooling, my card stays at 40 degrees idle and 70 at load plus it comes pre-overclocked and with a CD which contains a MSI After Burner Software that let you overclock the card. It is really worth, don't get confused simply gets MSI Hawk. All MSI user can vouch for it.

Whats the warranty on this one?

@madnav As I told you before, Indian warranty will do me good only for about say 10 months or so...

that is noot even the issue.

its the resale value which going to suffer even if anything works well for you.

thus suggesting sapphire over hawk if buying abroad.

in india, buy hawk without a doubt.. the price difference is too low here.

Yeah, I think I should get XFX..will get Lifetime warranty :D

Lolz. Lifetime doesn't mean its unlimited time span. Usually its only 3 years. Plus XFX is serviced by Rashi. So i would suggest u avoid it.

Er..well 3 years? Isnt it more like the lifetime of the product itself ? And yeah I know it isnt "unlimited time span" (Isn't it obvious?)

BTW Im buying it from US, If I were to be buying in India itself, Sapphire all the way (Im not getting Sapphire because of the two year warranty, while XFX has lifetime)

well the Lifetime warranty mean the Lifetime of the product only..

generally until the product is in production or in market. no one is going to give you warranty for your or their lifetime.

better get a 2nd hand locally if warranty is a concern.

arrey yr isn't it the same thing I said?

and wont the XFX lifetime warranty last longer than the sapphire two-year warranty? Obviously yes!
