dude, where do you live in TN,if you are in chennai head to ritchie's,take a qoute from delta, mahavirs, and sethia infotech, then go other shops and bargain hard using the quotes you already got, they will surely reduce the price..
I own 4670 1gig,and it does handle most of my games at all set to max..on a 19 incher..
Its a great VFM card. :D
BTW get the sapphire one, better cooling

Yeah, i can do that... bargaining and stuff .
Thanks.

You might wanna considering upgrading your computer, that CPU was a part of one Intel's worst series. Even the cheapest AMD proccy will outperform that CPU by a huge margin. For the time being I suggest a second hand card till you can upgrade the system. No point in spending 5k on your current setup.

A month before, i replaced everything in my pc except the processor.

"that CPU was a part of one Intel's worst series" - u mean the processor right ?.

Earlier i had a configuration which was a company model (ESYS) on a whole.
Now i changed everything(even the cabinet) but for the processor and the monitor.

I saw the recommended power for the 4670 is 400 Watts, now will my Smps handle that ?

I was running the 8600GT for 1.5 years without any problem.
If the 4670 can be bargained and bought for around 4.2k, i do have extra .8k.Is it possible to get a Smps which satisfies the recommended specifications for .8K ??

Never. Not possible

You can run 4670 with your current SMPS but it's risking the life of the card though. The minimum should be a zebronics pro 350 for around 1.5k, IMO.

OK, i will buy the 4670 sapphire model now.
And after a month i will buy the cooler Master Smps product.
Do anyone here have any idea of possibly getting a HIS model in INDIA ?

Sapphire model is very good don't worry. I don't know about HIS model availability and also if it's difficult to find in India, then think about the after sales service and warranty.

Cooler master extreme power series is known to blow up things in a dramatic way :ohyeah: So stay away from cooler master, and go for gigabyte superb 460W at 2.2k or Zebronics pro 350 for 1.5k

^^Why you want HIS.Sapphire is good enough with 3 yrs warranty

Cause am worried about over heating after what happened to my earlier card.
HIS has ICEQ and thats why i was desperate abt it, but nearest place to get that is Pakistan and am not for online buying anyways.

"Oh yeah" - was that experience speaking ?

I got fascinated by the Cooler master storm sniper and least i could afford is their Smps product.

Two more queries,
1.The motherboard, harddisk and RAM - they are atleast okish rite ?, i mean not the worst of the models rite ?

2.I have only one fan which is a normal fan that lies above the processor. There is two free fan slots.Should i go for those cooling fans available in the market ?
Mine is not an airconditioned room, but i dont play more than 4 or 5 hours a day continuously.
So....

Not my personal experience but Cooler master extreme power series, the cheaper ones in cooler masters psus, have blown up few graphic cards of our TE members too. So they're a big no-no, as there are far better options in that range.

Regarding your queries,

1 - Apart from your cpu, other things are pretty decent. If you can add a core2duo cpu along with a new bigger monitor, it will become a balanced rig.

2 - It would be good to have an extra intake fan as well as an extra exhaust fan, but 4670 runs pretty cool, so it's not really needed though.

Thanks :) .

Correction, mine is a 17" monitor and not a 15" one.But i donno whether it will make any difference though :(

dude instead of investing on a GPU u shud buy a new proccy and PSU right now. and look for a VGA cooler for ur existing GPU. Ur decision to go for a new gpu on ur current rig is not good. Look for a used Core2Duo around 2.5k from the members market in this forum...and PSU for rest of ur budget...some1 is selling Corsair VX450 for around 3.5k just grab it...think of GPU later since new DirectX 11 GPU has arrived and will be available cheap in future. But for now just upgrade the basics of ur rig.
