PC Peripherals What did i fry - System not getting past POST screen

@salluks - What mobo and processor do you have?

Did you try what I had posted earlier? I had the exact same problem as you and what I did worked for me.
 
Yea man tried the cmos, dont know if it was succesful, i had removed the battery for 2 hrs, tried changin the jumper to 2-3 as well.
I have
E6600
p5b deluxe wifi
gskill 2GB ram
dont know the name of the PSU took it from golcha, he said it was pretty good:huh:

@hellsfury, tried that too, didnt work
 
MOBO is culprit for sure ...i had same problem with my m2n-e tried everything and i was trying continuously to bring it to life for 7-8 hrs :S but it didnt budge :ashamed:

1.Can you even get to the beeps?

2....disconnect everything, including the HDDs and see if the system is beeping?

3. Disconnect the power cable and power ON the PC, ( nothing will happen ofcourse. ) Then connect it back and try starting it. I have this issue whenever I try to change some HDDs configuration, I have to powerdown the mobo completely before it recognises anything new.

4. Boot with ur frnds PSU..

Usually 15-30 seconds is more than enough.

The problem may be anything from the dreaded capacitor syndrome to the RAM, CPU or the PSU. The best way to find out will be to guinea pig a friend's rig.:P
 
yep the motherboard is dead, have to replace it, bougt it in jan 2007. doesny anyone know the warranty for asus p5b deluxe wifi????????
