At times PG used to block certain image hosting sites. I stopped using it thereafter. Has someone else experienced this?

^ u can use it only to block unwanted peers for torrents....u can disable it for browsing...hence it wont block any sites

is it recommended to use PG for torrents in india??

Why do you want to use it in India? Maybe its good to use to block bad seeders who send you alot of bad data(resulting in alot of hash-fails) but otherwise its not necessary imo..

What should I do about the AllowHTTP setting in PeerGuardian?

No problems in allowing HTTP. It means it will allow access to websites for which torrent ports etc may be blocked by the blocklist. E.G.: even BBC.co.uk is blacklisted n cant be opened if you dont allow http ;)

@salluks: Simply allow HTTP and ur issue is resolved :)

^ I always thought HTTP Access meant inbound HTTP (TCP Port 80)? :S

I would think it would help with your security no matter where your geographical location is.

Agreed.

my peerguardian blocks TE website.

i uninstalled it

Or you could have just right clicked on the particular ip and selected allow IP permanently.

I'm using 32bit Vista Ultimate and PG2 keeps hanging every few restarts(25-30hrs intervals). I use PG2 Loader RC5.

It does the same job as what 'recover driver' in XP used to do + list updation.

PeerGuardian 2 Vista RC1 - LOADER - Phoenix Labs

PG2 also comes in very handy as it logs all inbound & outbound IPv4 + IPv6 + IPv4 masking.

PG has issues with vista I believe. :( Mine keeps crashing after a few minutes on vista. + it takes zonealarm with it. Some incompatibility prob. On Xp, both work fine with each other.

Works perfect for me on Vista 32bit Home Premium. ..and I have NOD32 and Zone Alarm installed.

Dunno why only me then. Also antivir and utorrent. Watever. The only reason my dual boot xp is getting more use than vista :P Will try PG2 loader.

You can always download the block list and use it with utorrent, or you can see if you can import the ip addresses into your firewall program as a custom block list.
