What gadget/gizmo to buy as a gift within 5K

I'd also go with the suggestion of a digital photo frame. Gift coupons are great but, somehow, personally, I feel them to be too 'cold' for a real gift...maybe its because they are such a perfect practical solution that makes them devoid of emotion...just my feeling.
 
Give her the cash instead and let her buy whatever she wants. I'm serious - I got hitched last week and I have no idea what to do with all the quadrillion rice cookers and million crystal bowls and bed covers that we got :P.

The flip video device is actually pretty nifty too - the video quality is much nicer than any cellphone and its so stupidly easy to use. I was never a video camera person but this device is perfect for wasting time.

This is why I always give gift cards ( its like a prepaid credit card).

And, uh...methinks the situation is different. In your case, people are mostly trying to offload all those gifts collected over Diwali and NewYear :bleh:I prefer to gift cash on such occasions...but when it has to be some personal show of affection ... something different is called for :ashamed:
