A relative saw my IPS monitor and asked if a similar monitor was available in 20" .

I don't think 20" IPS monitors are available.

So what is best alternative ? They don't mind paying a bit more.

Mumbai availability.

I think I saw an Aoc 20" on primeabgb website yesterday. May or may not be IPS. 20/20.5" IPS are available. Lg, HP are major sellers.

I bought a 22" (1920x1080) IPS monitor but did not like the way fonts were rendered on it. Maybe I was just used to the way fonts were rendered on a 20" monitor.
I would not recommend a 22" - that's a personal opinion of course.
I actually calculated the pixel width on 20" 1600x900 and 24" 1920x1080 and found them to be the same - not sure if it matters !

HP has 20 inch IPS monitor - HP 20fi. It was available in Flipkart. At the same price you can get a 21.5' FHD IPS monitor.
Which 22 monitor do you have?
Make sure that the resolution in display settings is 1920x1080.
You can adjust ClearType in Windows to make fonts better.

Its for a relative - they don't want a "big" monitor.
The 22" monitor I had was the Dell one, glossy - ST220L I think. Sold it at a loss after a few days and got a 24". Fonts exactly like a 20" - what I'm used to.[DOUBLEPOST=1407987693][/DOUBLEPOST]How are HP monitors ? Snapdeal seems to have the HP.

Then go for 19".

Windows will always render fonts at 96 DPI. At native resolutions, it will look same size. If you want bigger fonts you need to scale them in display settings.

The fonts certainly looked different on a 22" - the only way I can describe it is as tho they were compressed slightly vertically.

Anyway this might be a subjective thing ...
