but what good is sticking newspaper on his windshield? hes just gonna remove it and drive off and not care. The only thing that deters people from breaking rules in this country is if there is a punishment imposed. Only if you do something that causes him trouble will he not do it in future
Newspaper because it tears easily (took em a good 10 mins to get it off) and the glue leaves a residue that he will have to drive home with. After it can be removed easily (by design) but the inconvenience upto reminds every second. I put this on the drivers side of the windshield for a reason
Not so dreadful to involve the cops, they'd prolly laugh it off and not provocative enough to make them chuck a stone at the house and break a window. Granted if it starts pouring down then its all gone but i'm sporty enough for that.
Going by the reaction i got from the ppl i think it was proportionate & effective. You'd be amazed how possessive ppl are about their cars. Any thought about the infraction vanishes and all attention is on the object of affection. They feel like THEY are the ones wronged

..me laughing at them for extra effect.
Tactically, i'm at a disadvantage which limits options as its easy to come back for more at a time & date of their choosiing....as there is no ambiguity as to which house is the guilty party. Where's my response in this case ?
My neighbour down the road got away with much more as there were more possible suspects.
The other unknown is you don't always get to see who the driver is. Men react differently to women. Short guys from taller ones etc.

get a board saying all 4 tyres of vehicle parked in front of gate will be punctured.
This only happened once in many years, a bunch of kids just ripped off the no parking sign and chucked it on the side.
as if the absence of a sign in this particular instance makes it ok :O

Puncturing the tires seems good. But doing permanent damage isn't such a good idea.
Puncturing means they will be stuck there longer than already, so this is iffy.
As to permanent damage, what would YOUR own reaction be, to those that are advocating it ?
