PC Peripherals What to get from USA ???

my mother's friend is coming from usa. What should i get ?? budget ard. 12 k. i don't need any computer parts.
okay there are two things which i want -- ipod touch ( 8 gb one) and a PVR.Now i would prefer a pvr over ipod touch but what i wanna know is whether a pvr purchased in america will work with tata sky?? if so which pvr to get?? Also will it be too heavy to carry?? (for purchase of PVR, price is not an issue)

Also suggest a good quality earphone for ipod for ard. 4-5k. Anything else i should consider buying there??

Anyway is there any risk using an american made stuff in india?? i mean the voltage ratings are different in both countries right?? So will it get fried if i hook them to elecrtric sockets here?? how to avoid that from happening ?? or should i drop this idea and just buy stuff here??
 
for pvr's i think 50w converter is fine...shud cost u around 200rs.but i dont think ntsc tuners inside u.s pvr will work here..
 
Good deals on most MP3 players (creative, apple etc), digicams (any brand..all almost 50% difference ;) ) Good graphic cards....
 
Rams.......its real cheap in u.s.for the price of value rams(667) here...u get decent 800mhz rams with heat spreaders..
 
I'll say go to Woot : One Day, One Deal (SM) and Woot Sellout and get whatever they're selling delivered to your aunt's place. Incredible prices and real eclectic gadgets. Make for great tech toys for urself and amazing gifts for ur cousins/friends who are a li'l technologically inclined.

For the PVR question of whether it'll work with tatasky or not, guess you cud go to vinuthomas forum and post ur query there. Ppl there are a li'l more into this stuff. No point ordering something that wont work well with ur existing subscription.
