Hey all Mobile-cell experts, do any1 have any knowledge about the "LIQUID LOCK" test,as in parlance of Mobile-cell phones?

The thing ,i'm asking.......because,i have not heard the above term. untill....today when, i went to the SE service centre..........for repairing my K750i ...& the front office receptionist said that they wouldnot make an entry of my phone for repair in the SE service centre, untill my k750i confirmed passed the liquid lock check, even if my phone is under guarantee period!

Consider me noob at these,i was at total loss of understanding the terminology :S & even asking the explination with front-office ppl didnot help, bcoz they had similar vague idea.....& these r only known by the engineers working inside, who r forbidden to make direct contact/communication with the customers!:@

Though my phone passed the check & i could make the entry therafter, but only to return home a complete dumbo:(

I already googled but that didnot sem to help 2, so basically very much in doubt what sort of CHECK or TAMPERING they SE ppls did 2 my phone.....or r they completely misleading me by spelling out some Corrupted name for some valid checks that r to b made b4hand to ascertain the condition of the phone b4 repair in the service centre:huh: ^o

So,those knowledgeable ones please help this DUMBO geek:sos:

wht the hell.... my friend got his K750i repaired just last week... he wasnt asked to get anything like tht... all tht was asked was the warranty card and copy of the bill.. :s

wtf there is nothing like that :@ or is it there? :S when i went for service for my mobile they only asked me for the warranty card.

no idea... icant find anything abt it on any site..
if there is smthing like it.. the best i can guess is.. tht there is sm kind of liquid stored in the lock/chips which would be leaked if they were opened by sm unprofessional place or smthing..

Or loquid lock was something that would break when the phone is exposed to water. You know how people drop their phones into water and dilligently clean it. Then they present it to the service center for fixing as if nothing happened on their side. So maybe if the liquid lock is broken then they can find out if the phone was exposed to water and promptly refuse warranty.

Raghu.

Sorry to go slightly OT, but a friend of mine had problems with his k750i.. he has about 10 months warranty left, but had to go to the service centre 3 times already. They now replaced his phone!

Ok,got the Phone repairred in a Day's time.......

.....They did Nothing except changing the f/w to the latest one R1BC002(which me couldhave done easily but not bothered the risk) & surprise me ALL the PROBLEMS were GONE........no H/w fix

Anyway..still at large abt the LL issue!

Hope sum of u having SE Phones while going for future cellphone repairs @ SE service centre ALSO make queries 2 get this pertinent LL issue cleared(if there is at all any such issue)!

ANYWaY,Thanks guys!
