Okay.

I saw this video earlier and I really like this guys content.

And I do agree to quite an extent that ANI is clearly behaving like extortionists.

But they are not completely wrong either in asking some payment.

You are using someones else video to make your content may be for just 8-9 seconds only still you making money out of it. there are 100s or even 1000s of content creators if each just use for 7-10 seconds videos also. tab toh lag gayi.

It takes lot og effort and sometimes even risks to take those videos. Beside lets not forget the expense of equipment too.

so why doesn't Mohak pays may be some decent amount to ANI too. Its not like he isn't making money out of it.

But yeah ANI could have behaved better and more responsibly too.

Anything that gets put on youtube comes under fair use as long as it's not completely copy pasted with nothing else added in context. Then it comes piracy and digital theft with means to distribute (bad wording but you get my point). What Mohak did and so do other youtubers is use short clips in their long video. If this is not a perfect example of fair use then I don't know what is.
