Okay.

I saw this video earlier and I really like this guys content.

And I do agree to quite an extent that ANI is clearly behaving like extortionists.

But they are not completely wrong either in asking some payment.

You are using someones else video to make your content may be for just 8-9 seconds only still you making money out of it. there are 100s or even 1000s of content creators if each just use for 7-10 seconds videos also. tab toh lag gayi.

It takes lot og effort and sometimes even risks to take those videos. Beside lets not forget the expense of equipment too.

so why doesn't Mohak pays may be some decent amount to ANI too. Its not like he isn't making money out of it.

But yeah ANI could have behaved better and more responsibly too.
Anything that gets put on youtube comes under fair use as long as it's not completely copy pasted with nothing else added in context. Then it comes piracy and digital theft with means to distribute (bad wording but you get my point). What Mohak did and so do other youtubers is use short clips in their long video. If this is not a perfect example of fair use then I don't know what is.

Haha

Ten years from now we will be at second spot.

No one will be talking about China then because all the downturns they are experiencing now, amplified further by Trump's policies will come to a head around the turn of the decade

You can see the change in their mindset already by the defensive thinking that has taken hold of their strategic thinkers with developments across the Tibetan border

We are fourth largest economy only because of population, an average indian is extremely poor and our standards of living is much akin to Sub Saharan Africa.

Largest economy is delulu.

What matters is where we stand in per capita income and standard of living.

Only if you're a commie.

60% of Americans live from one paycheck to the next. What are you hearing from the US these days? The present generation does not have the opportunities of their parents and will likely have a lower standard of life.

So according to you and whomever else the US is no great shakes either. Bernie Sanders would certainly agree with that. That alone should tell you how wrong your thinking is.

You forget every one wants to sell their produce there and why Trump’s tariffs are causing so much heartburn elsewhere.

Who cares? Productive people that make stuff and improves the wellbeing of any country that can do so. More you can sell, more jobs you create, more opportunities and better standard of living. We are starting to go down this path when it was either non existent or stunted in the past and everything was worse than today.

And I just love how people here want to deny that made in India is a thing. Of course you would as the opposition. Right? And there is a reason you will remain as opposition as better options have presented themselves and passed through three elections successfully.

Thank fcuk for that.

What matters is where we stand in per capita income and standard of living.
Oh yeah?

Seems it went up but you pretend nothing happened. So it follows then we will also see a similar increase as GDP grows.

I don't give a hoot about per capita. That is up to the people. You can whine for the next century about that. It's a dead end argument which is the aim because you want to be permanently depressed as if that makes your narrative meaningful. Nobody gives a crap for your loser narrative.

What I'm interested in and everybody else that is aware we are rising and a bright spot in this otherwise stagnant world is where we stand as a collective because that is what shapes global perceptions about us. How that goes has a direct bearing on how we live too.

thats a great argument lmao, rich getting richer and poor getting poorer and complaining about that is being a commie, ok

also in that per capita figure, did the OOP take into account inflation or did you just copy paste whatever tweet supported your narrative?

P.S. 86,647 would roughly be equal to 144,700 in today's money, and we are not even getting into shrinkflation/how expensive everything is turning to be

Forget it, we're not here for facts.

thats the thing that really grates me, all parties are bad, and we the public can only choose the least worst of all evils.
Isn't that true though.
Which political in this country hasn't played dirty politics over religion, caste , has no scams attached to its tenure, there members don't have murder/ extortion/rape cases?
I can go on but we public are reduced to the option of choosing least of the evil among the worst.

Who said they're getting poorer. But you definitely have a problem with people getting richer.

Thatcher called out this BS argument decades ago. That is why the UK isn't in the PIGS group today

He asked for per capita and got his answer :D

Did inflation never exist before? Oh yes it did but people couldn't earn like now. Why is that ignored. Doesn't suit your narrative.

Is one GDP going up relative to others? Yes, it is. That is a source of strength, national pride and full marks to the present administration for achieving it.
You have nothing positive to say. No progress has been made. Why should anyone care what you think.

There is progress but you won't talk about it because it doesn't suit your narrative and I'm exposing that.

Answering OPs original question - It is a very bleak future as we move towards becoming a theocracy and the constitution of India increasingly becomes a document that is "open to interpretation" by the powers that are in charge. Regionalism, language rows and open religious divide have become more pronounced in recent years. Recent stuff such as the Amendment of the RTI act and the recent arrest of the Asoka University professor are things that should have us worried but then... They say politics is a reflection of our society and I think so. Closet haters of X or Y religions, a civic society that doesn't consider corruption a big deal and in general increasingly selfish people who have mostly become more so after following neoliberal practices that have contributed to increased economic inequality and weakening of community bonds (people becoming more individualistic and selfish). Scientific temperment and the urge to do in-depth studies of anything in general has become less thanks to social media and digital distractions that clutter the mind and leave room for very little introspection and quiet time. Therefore, it is not a surprise that mistrust and hatred exists among people in such a society that will only increase in the coming days. On the bright side, I'm glad I was not born in a country like Afghanistan or Pakistan. :D P.S. These are my thoughts in a nutshell and I see no point in debating with people who might think otherwise. Thank you.

Just remove Rajnikanth and put Modi in this scene....
Doesn't matter who's in charge. You will always get whiners. I saw this here before Modi entered office and it will be the same after. It doesn't take a lot of brains to be like that. You've been here long enough to know what I mean

My posts are counters to the premise of this thread. Why aren't more doing so. Takes effort doesn't it. To be positive and informative Who has time for that when being a loser cynic is least effort

I will keep making posts in that interest as time goes on. If people want to sleep it's up to them. But this country cannot afford to sleep, isn't asleep. To the contrary.

In 2009 my father pension was 14k and we lived in a 3bhk house along with some rents @ 10k from our house in native place comfortably.
Now when he is getting 90k and living in his own house even then he is trying to limit his and our expenses. Why?
Because of inflation.
In 2009 monthly kirana for a 5 member family it used to cost Rs.1500 while now even Rs.6000 isn't enough.
In 2009 even with Rs.300 we used to get a bag full of vegetables but now even with Rs.1000 we are not able to get the same amount of vegetables for a week or 10 days at most.
For fruits in 2009 it's another Rs300 but nowadays just grapes are Rs.163, apples are Rs.150, Blue Berries are Rs.165, Lichi is Rs.165 all per small boxes, Mangoes are Rs.100 per kg, Bananas are Rs.80 per kg.
If there are 5 people in the family these won't last even for 3-4 days so it's Rs.1000 for fruits per week.
Are we really going forward just because our salaries & pensions have increased or getting stagnated because of rising prices. I really don't know what to say.

Absolutely true, brother. Fruit and veggie costs have ballooned like crazy, specially post Covid. I remember pre Covid when a kg of mangoes during peak season would be 30 INR/kg. Now you'll be lucky to get worst quality mangoes for less than 100/kg.
Its like mango, apples, grapes etc have turned intuo exotic fruits somehow. Insane prices. Usual salary increases can't keep up with this level of inflation.

tier 1 city? yep we are ****ed, one tip though, if you can, go to a nearby mandi and buy in bulk, a normal peti is around 10kg and if you calculate costs, it'll end up way cheaper, think it was 100rs/kg vs 400 last time I calculated for these chinese imported apples,

We have an extra fridge just for fruits that we buy, I know its not an option for apartment folks but still throwing this out here
