Parents were taking child to hospital for treating dog bite, the were on a bike, allegedly police held them up for not having helmet, while a speeding vehicle came and hit them killing the child.
Number of brutal deaths due to dog attacks... totally avoidable in 2025, unfortunately still happens regularly because of reckless animal love of some inhumane minded people. The value we give to humans in India... :(

People's love for street dogs is more than their love for humans. We have a menace of dogs in our society but few people just fight (and bark like dogs) everytime local municipality comes to pick them up. Absolutely bonkers.

What about monkey and snake bites? Are these being reported?
In Telangana where my aunt & sister live there are many monkeys who come every week to taste the fruits and flowers there.
During Trump daughter's visit last time in Hyderabad the GHMC painted the dogs so that they don't look dirty.
I appreciate some snake lovers and groups that are bringing advice not to kill them or handle them improperly.
Despite this we kill snakes as we see them or even chase them sometimes.

and peeps want to support that clown RaGa lol, these days, you cant get education, if RaGa had his way, you wont even have a job left. Like it or not folks, BJP is least of all evils, before calling others Andhbhakts, maybe they should see what kind of shit has creeped into their own house

One can understand that snakes are nobody's pet, but are part of nature which can be rescued and relocated to forest interiors.
Monkeys need to be controlled.
Leave alone snakes and monkeys, in some places wild boars are attacking people near city areas and there are deaths due to this. Extremely lackadaisical approach from authorities.

Got 20kg cart of Baiganfalli Mangoes for 1300/- Now its a race to finish them before they go all black lmao. If you have some friends ready to buy together, then it becomes real easy.
one tip is, ask the dealer to not give you carbide applied mangoes, what usually happens is, to sell mangoes, they apply carbide to ripen them quickly, you can ask them to sell you a peti as is, and then either ripen them slowly yourselves, or just apply carbide to a batch of them only (not a hard process, nor is carbide hard to source)
This is not a solution not even workaround.
it is, shit is not gonna get cheaper, even farmers need to eat, only way to get cheap food is to buy in bulk, even people in America buy their food from costco in bulk and then use them slowly

You usually don't get carbide mangoes now - they have a patch of some chemical which releases ethylene to ripen the mango as it travels from farm to retail.
Have bought some petis earlier and all of them had such patches - don't see carbide mangoes locally.

ahh, we still get carbide ones here, but my point still stands, if you are buying from local mandis, you can get the dealer to give you unripe mangoes and ripen them yourselves.

let me put it this way, even if you are broke and you have to send your kid to the most rundown govt school imaginable. send them, socializing is a very important part of a child's development, they need to learn how to talk to their peers, navigate social circles, expectations etc and this is something they they cant learn on their own.
I agree and this is something I am still trying to learn more about if it's really a good idea or a bad idea in the long run but there are also other ways to have them socialize too.
Like swimming classes, badminton , chess clubs etc. These days sports need good attention too.
I agree. Chandigarh maybe well planned but it has other issues - massive number of young blood with exorbitant money to spend. Don't care if they break laws or kill anyone. Drugs are common.
Indore has bits and pieces which are great, but many underdeveloped areas.
Yes. tell me about it.
I don't think any city in India is developed enough that you want to go and live there. I like Mysore - great weather etc, but civic infra is still underdeveloped, and you can see lack of cleanliness and civic understanding while heading towards Chamundi Hills.
Out of options - in other words - back to survival mindset.
Exactly.

there were reports from Shimla too where children and tourist were bit by dogs.

Here in Himachal...i often see them running after bikes and cars and once I saw couple were chased on their bike and they lost balance and had a bad fall from their bike.
I quickly ran to help them to stand and tried to scare the dogs away.
I have crossed this place and It comes before trekking to Sar pass trek

Kasol is a small touristy town on the hills with very small one way road leading to it.

Since it attracts tourists from all over India and foreignors for some what wrong reasons too.( the famous Malana Cream) it generates heavy load of pollution and garbage.

And on top our civic sense is also very poor all this adds up to this mess .

So one cannot blame administration completlely also because this small town has crazy level of tourist footfalls. much beyond its capacity and so somewhere they had to find a place inside beautiful forest to keep these garbage hidden from tourist .

Beside this is little better...In Manali I saw the garbage collection is done just over on a spot of land above Bear River and one can easily see 10-20% of those garbage ending into river.

and ofcourse once again our own public civic sense is horrible.
