When u dont bribe a police guy???u always pay for it.....

Well i know many ppl might have bribed the police here especially the traffic one.....

But mine is another story.........

Well sometimes bak i applied for a fresh passport(21st July to b precise)
...well i could have done through agent .....but i have alot of free time so thought lets play the office office game.......

Well u all know the long queues......well it started at 11am and my form was processed at 4 pm...all was done now jus had to wait for police verification....

I was really suprised the police guy came jus on the 10th day....(Ard 1st or 2nd august) to my place for checking......after again checking original documents.......he asked for my personal proof.....which my neighbour did saying that he know me frm past 4 years.......

I knew ppl saying pay bribe in envelope when the guys enters........But Becoz of my nature i decided i wont pay unless he asks or most probably ill Complain if he asks(as u know i had alot of free time)........He told me to visit the station at 8 Pm...which i did......and that BS...was missing i waited ard 1 hour but was of no help.......

Then next day i felt ill...and didnt mov out for ard 3 days......then due to my lazy nature and rains on some days.....again i postponed my visit......Then on today 18th aug(ard 17 days frm police verification) i visited the station..again i was made to wait for 45 minutes......also 1 whole family verification was done who jus entered on my 43rd minute......and i was made a standing goat.....

Then when my number came...the officer says since i didnt came for 15days they have returned bak my application to passport office(i dont know anything as such mentioned on passport site to verify within 15 days).......That would had been okay....But .....

But the B$ says that he called me more than 10 times.......(which never happened and i can easily prove getting a telephone bill copy) and tells me i was idiot to come at 8 pm since no verification happens at that time.........

Now again i have to visit main Passport office(stand in long queue)......get a form fill...either have to bring it bak to station and than have to hear frm the B$ that no form has been received..after waiting another 1 hour there for many days.........etc etc
and the office office argument continues.......
so in short:::

Moral of the story::::whenever u know your work wont happen with a bribe dont think twice pay before that BS asks......
 
i had a similar experiance with my passport...

Im a native of andhra pradesh but study in karnataka.so when i applied for passport,i mentioned the same in the application.when the constable came to my house,i was in college and my mom didn't know that u need to pay the guy and he didn't ask her any thing.

that guy went off and gave a -ve report on me that im not staying at the mentioned place while i mentioned the same in the application.

Long story short,i got a temporary PP for 1 yr just 2 days before my TOEFL
 
Well sorry to hear about ur experience and my full sympathies.

My case was totally different.

Filled the form and submitted it in the Passport office. Was called to Police station for 1st verification. The Head of the Police station(ACP) called us all to his room ( A.C) and we were all served water over there. He asked us about general background and stuff and asked why we want to get passport and all. Then he asked his junior to bring the file there and he made us sign in his room only. Told us other verifications would follow.

I having studied my engg outside my home town also needed to be verified, which surprisingly didnt happen.

One inspector came at my house and did all formalities and went.

Bingo had my passport in my hand in about 35 days total.

Maybe my mom being an advocate had some influence but i highly doubt it.
 
well.. they arent exactly some fun issues.... something serious though......

i actually sympathise with the pa***s... first of all they get paid so less.... then they have to go to each and everone's house to verify docs... wouldnt they need money??? ... i think there should be a system in place where you do pay the pa***s officially.. so that its taxed.. ;)
 
LOL @ chic_magent, dont call them P***** here openly. you never know who is reading this. if some kid of a policeman is reading this you know where you will get a danda .....:rofl:

less paid...lol who said that........all B$ whom i saw in station were lookin like wwe hardcore performer......i guess they gets to eat meat everyday......

nyways...as i was in bad mood i also sended a mail to regional passport office mumbai.....and mainoffice in delhi..........i know nothing will b done.......but after a long time i was so much frustrated........

and yup if u r a son/daughter or related to govt service u dont undergo much trouble..........my personal experince

and mind u ppl never use the word pandu/panda in front of them(atlest in mumbai)........1 guy in mumbai train told his frnd let the pan#$ come in he was slapped so hard his lens got torn in eyes and he lost his eye.........

hmm.. i have filled tht form and submitted it too.. and it has been almost 45dasy yet no results.. lets see wat happens! :ashamed:
 
lucky me..... never had to anything like that..... got my passport ages ago. I didnt have to do anything. I never had to stand in queues and all that.

I dont even remember when I got my passport. I know I got it at least by June 2002. :P ..... that was when I made my first trip abroad using my individual passport.... uptil then, mine and my sis' passport was with my mom's....there is a correct term for that....forgot :P
 
@Josh: The Pune centre is mainly cool.... but the cops do ask for bribes sometimes, but they ASK up front if they do at all. And generally they are smart about it - they know who they can safely trouble. They never gave me any trouble, nor anyone else in my family because we all had existing passports, and the police rejecting a renewal requires some form of investigation I suppose.
 
Mumbai's cops are much better. The cop came to my place in mumbai asked a few questions to my mom n dad and i got my passport 20 days later. No money was exchanged.

Funny part is that i did not even have to meet the police bcoz i was in pune :)
 
@Magnet... I think this has nothing to do with bribe... I beleive you are at fault equally... A passport report has to be sent back to passport office by Police officials within a specified time... This rule is there due to certain reasones...

Thogh officer was missing on the day when you had gone there but he could have gotten an emergency call and he had to go... He is a police official for God's sake... And i dont see that you skipped 14 days after that... Man you are lazy more then him being one... Also did he even ask you for a money.. If not then it looks stupid on your part accusing him...

Think about it...

And are you sure he didnt call... Check again... If he says he called you ten times i am sure he would have called you atleast once...

For the record... I am in noway related to any Police Official... Infact i dont even have any friend whom i know off who are son/daughter of a police official...
 
switch.... i respect your comments......even if he had told that he had sended bak the stuff......i wont have even posted this stuff........

But the things which made me post this is..........first i stay at home for ard say 18 hours at home plus my mobile is with me throughout the day..........how the hellin this world it can happen i have got a call frm police and me being a fool not to report immediately...........
Also he accusing me sayin that i m an idiot to come to police station at 8pm when no govt office works at that time......than why did the officer called me at that time...offcourse he wanted bribe...which i didnt gave or he asked it at home.........

Also i got another fellow who told me at the ofice that he went through alot of pain for her mothers passport 3 yrs bak.........and now while trying his.......the officer didnt ask but while goin the man said how much u want.....he said 200 and he gave it an envelope........and that man job too was done..........plus my frnd who filled the form with me also gave 100 buks at another station(where the officer personally ask since they hav native mother tongue marathi....)

I am jus frustrated why the man lied......even that was okk but do u think he has the right to insult somone(ofcourse i dont have any criminal record and i possess enggr degree)
 
a small update::: called the police verification dept via phone enquiry ...they confirmed.....no files has been sended bak...........to passport office......
And the police guy told me it has been returned...fill some pp form(which is to b filled only when u dont stay at a particular address).........
in short i m being bully
