4770 is out of stock almost everywhere . why not buy new GTS 250 @ 7.5k . go for it if u had smps which can handle .
i dont think price of 4870 will fall below 10k in india , they dont have 4770 stocks so 4850 will be around 7.5-8k , 4870 is 11k around from powercolor currently .

OP, u can buy 4850, but its 8.5k. Else wait for sometime and get 4770. Its better to wait for some time I think.

HD 4770 is good VLM card , but price dropping in the ATI cards are good @ this time next month we expect the price of HD 4870 for 9K HD 4850 for 6.5K

Even i was planning for the same card but due to current situation changed my mind and bought sapphire DS 4850 for 6.5 K:hap2: from a forum member here
because i hate the waiting game you wait for a particular card today and later find out a better card or a newer card is at horizon, this is a chain:tongue: .
No use playing the waiting game:no:, i suppose if you decide to go with 4770 your are in for a long,long,long... wait! the reason is problems with 40nm manufacturing technology where yields are hardly able to meet 25% of requirement, by the time the problem is solved it will take at least 2 to 3 months for regular supply of these cards or even more in INDIA, As far as price drops please do not expect the same price cuts as in countries like Us, Uk etc it will be nominal here, at least up till the 4770 arrives.
Thus it is best you go for 4850 or Gts 250.
