PC Peripherals Where to buy hardware at Lamington Road Mumbai?

hey can some one pm the details for the swamvik computers?? i would like to know the dealer address.
also hmm i dunno a lot.. but i wanted to know if there are dealers at lamington road which deal with certain products.. like they are major suppliers of particular brands at lamington road.. such as creative speakers, auss mobos, gigabyte cards. and stuff..
 
... I went to Lamington Road in the evening and looked around for the drives I wanted - NO LUCK :( Maxtor have been advertising this drive in the local magazines for about 2 months now - still not available. :mad:

Then I went to my old friend at APEX Enterprises opposite the Dreamland Cinema and I checked with him for the drives and asked him to show me other TOYS .... He produced the Canon Digital Camera A400 and I liked it so I bought it. He is a official Canon agent so I got bill and 2 years Canon India warranty for 9250/-. How is that ? I know the gray market is cheaper but I thought it was worth the extra for a proper warranty. Good camera - good pictures.

I've bought all my stuff from computer selection. Really nice fellows. They don't charge the lowest but for the service they provide, its well worth it.

The guy there is Nilesh. I have known him for about 20 years now - but this is my first purchase from him. :D They are in the tall building first floor opp the theatre.

yeah! Computer Selection is 1 of da best shops here, also Casette World is nice. But if u want bit cheap but same quality then move on to mahavir. & High price, turn to Prime ABGB.
else PC WORLD, COMPUTER CULTURE or Samvik computers.

I have 3 Maxtor drives 120 160 and 250 GB and all have 8mb buffers. If you do decide to buy a Maxtor drive look only for the Maxtor DiamondMax 10 series drives. I have the DM 9's and these are NOT good.
 
hey people i`m interested in buying a sata 2 hard disk.. any ideas whcih shop in lamington road will have one..
can anyone tell me the market price for a seagate 160 gb pata hard disk..
also wanted to buy hynix d43 chipset ka dual channel ram? again which shop i should ask for it..
also will i be able to find corsair ram here.. cause i have`nt seen any yet..

I got my drives from one of the dealers mentioned often in this forum but I had a fall out with this guy because he over charged me for the 160 and 250 gb drives and he sold me the Maxtor DM 9 drives when the new Maxtor DM 10 were already available - Man I was pi**ed off. :mad: I will never recommend this dealer to any one.

Maxtor gives 5 years warranties.. and their warranties are very good ... I had 2 120GB SATA drives die on me and both were promptly replaced.

Maxtor 5 year warranty on all drives
 
This is a GREAT THREAD for mumbai guys to know the best/cheapest shops to get parts from.....

Btw me too suggesting Mahavir, get nythng u want at the cheapest price (seriously, compared to all othr shops)nd gud service tooo...atleast for me

If they quote higher than ny othr shops around, just tell them i will be bac after a round, nd then u will hear the sweet words "whtevr othrs quote, cme back here, v will giv it to u for 50/100 less" ....nd they really do it ;)

PS: me was gonna start a new thread for this, but Eazy , if ur goin sme tme soon, can u lemme knw wht the prices r for 160Gb Hdd's with 8Mb ,nd which is the best.....if not no problemo :cool2:

I dont think I will be going in the near future. But I have not been getting good prices for drives thats why I started this thread :D

I got some prices for drives from Singhania Electronics at Lamington Road a few days back which looked good but before I could reach there I went and spent my money on a Digital Camera. These guys are on a list of Authorised retails outlets of Maxtor but they did not have much of their drives. Got prices from them for a Seagate 300gb 9100/- and Maxtor 250gb Maxline II 7400/-. I already have this same Maxline II drive and I was looking for the Maxline III which is a 16mb cache drive !! Singhania are located in Shamrao Vithal road which is off Lamington Road - I cannot remember which one this road is :(
 
my friend got a 8mb buffer 120 gb seagate from computer selection couple of days back , 3400 bucks ... 2mb buffer 160 gb was 3700 but a 8mb buffer is a 8mb buffer :)
transcend 512 ddr 400 for 2400
kingston ddr 400 for 2900
samsung dvd writer for 3850 ...
best prices acc to me :)
 
hi members other than primeabgb which all vendors r good in lamington road, mumbai primeabgb as u know is costlier but they do tend to have most of the goods anyother vendors address will be appreciated
 
Computer Selection is good , next to Police Station .

PS : I have noticed this , dunno if others have , that all these vendors call up some place to enquire about the prices if they dont have the stuff . its a 4 digit number . is there some central place or they call each other up or ?
