Laptops Whether to go for repair of my lappy!!

Hi,
My wife has a compaq v3029au model, had problems since beginning.
Now its totally gone... service guys say they will have to replace the motherboard... Now I am thinking that wd cost around 10-12 k, and then ther's no gurantee whether it will perform well. As genrally I have noticed with lapps..once they go to service center..they just keep going there... I am wondering hard whether I shall go forthis repair or just buy a good desktop, I already have a monitor so may in another 10 k apart from motherboard cost I can go for a good desktop!... I know it;s not a technical issu but still needed some help in deciding! :huh:
 
Yup instead of repairing, it's better to go for a desktop. You can get a good desktop in your budget PLUS it always has to advantage of upgrading/repairing it easily over laptop. You can go for inspiron desktops form Dell if you prefer looks or just get one assembled otherwise! :)

i would suggest try giving your laptop to amarbir if you are in chandigarh..or if posssible try to ship to him...he had a thread in dealer paradise repairing your old defective material...
