Audio Which 1 is best for HD Movies Philips 5.1 (HTS 5500 i/c) or Altec Lansing mx 5021?

If it's mainly for watching movies and 5.1 is a must then the Philips.

Though the 5.1 speakers will provide with you better effects and all ,getting a good 2.1 like MX-5201 will provide you with better sound quality.

I'ts simple you need to decide, quality or quantity. :)

Things like these are driven by budget. Post your budget and people would be able to help you out. Most audiophiles would suggest you a good 2.1 or even a 2.0 system and upgrade later on.

Totally depends on your budget.

Can you provide a link to check the specs of HTS 5500 i/c?

I am using MX-5021 and it's terrific for music and movies. But if you want surround, you better look for a 5.1

My budget is within 7k.

And i don;t kno any link related to my philips 5.1 & it's a product that recommended by 'digit'.

is it possible to play DTSHD, DTSMA & Dolby TrueHD using Creative 4 Audigy?

Creative labs says this about audigy 4:

Brace yourself for big time movie thrills, right in the comfort of your home. With cinema-quality multi-channel surround from 5.1 to 7.1 surround and support for both DTS-ES and Dolby Digital EX you'll enjoy movie audio the way the director wanted you to hear it!

if you are thinking of using your PC for surround, my recommendation would be Logitech X-540. :)
