At present iam having Seagate 320Gb and 640GB WD HDD(Both SATA). I have ordered NAS/Torrent Downloader from Dealextreme($41.23) and will be recieving soon.

So iam thinking of making Seagate 320GB HDD as external drive and connecting it to the downloader and also use it as backup drive.

So i have 2 questions:

1. Will the 320GB HDD work with the dealextreme device?

2. Which External HDD enclosure should i buy?

I have budget ~1.2k. What are the options available for External HDD Casing/Enclosure..?

Casing with eSATA would be awesome...

^^Thanks for that..
But is there any other bit cheaper option available?
I mean Is 2k odd bucks worth just for a Casing??

Dude... this is Transcend, not some el cheapo Chinese casing... Its rock solid.. You will not find an E-Sata casing at your price point.. USB one can be found dime a dozen. Remember you will be running your casing in a downloading setup & they tend to heat up a lot. So active cooling with a fan is recommended which is built in with this casing...

Totally worth your money & since its Transcend it will have solid build quality unlike Chinese ones which are highly unreliable...

@manu,

I will connect HDD to my PC using eSATA port and transfer the data..

Looks like i will have to increase my budget to 2k and go for Transcend.

So is there any other model in 2k range??

Post WTB thread for esata casing in market and get either of cooler master (considerably cheaper but has no fans) or transend one preferably

Hello all,

Will this hard disk enclosure support Western Digital 2TB drives?

I want to fit in WD20EADS into this

will that be detected?

Rgds
