Hi Guys,

I need a new 4GB pen drive...I had zeroed in on Buffalo drive as many users on the forum had reported good feedback but some other posts in the forum suggest that buffalo 4GB drive is not as good as its 2GB counterpart w.r.t. to writing speeds...

So which one to get ?

Regards,

Hmm...transcend v60 datasheet specifies max speeds for read/write as 10/3 MBps ...which would be slowww to say the least :S

forget transced...its not that they are not good ..but they dont even give u very good write speeds..

go for a Buffalo Flash drive..ive heard that they are really fast...

or else go for San Disk..one's...dunno specific model..

u may pick up a portable HDD laptop size 80 with case for 2300/- at prime

not a bad idea..but if he wants somethin ..ultra portable..he better get a pen drive ...u knw pocket drives dont give you the portability of a pen drive.

u cant hang a pocket drive around u r neck ..lolz..

other wise even i say go for a 80/120 gb pocket drive..they r totally worth to get games/movies and dumps of mp3 from friends :hap2:

Already got a lappy hdd w/ casing, wanted something small and less fragile for day to day usage...so lookin for a pen drive..
Guess...I have to go with buffalo..

Ive been using the Buffalo RUF2-E2G-K-AP 2 GB Flash Drive for quite a while.. and when a friend of mine benched it we got trasnfer speeds of upto 31 mbps and write speeds of upto 22mbps on windows Vista 32 bit .. the turbo usb soft which comes with it pushes that to 32mbps(transfer speed) when the soft is installed on a particular computer.. the turbo usb is atleast 16% faster than the normal ones available in the market.. the Buffalo USB comes close to the Corsair Voyager . The best part of all this is the pricing.. at 850+tax its the ultimate buy of the year.. I suggest you go in for it..cheers!

EDIT : It also comes with a 2 year warranty!

personally i think 2gb pen drive should be more than enuff when comparing with files:cost speed doesnt matter as almost all 2gb drives have minimum 16mb/s transfer rate...
u can get 40x more storage capacity with just 1k extra for 2.5"HDD tht would be more intelligent buy imo
i got a Adata PD1 2gbalthough got it free but still sufficient for small data packages

and a 160GB Simpletech drive for 455Dhs (5300/-) 6 months bak

dunno about writing speeds and all .. but my corsair 4GB went for a swim in my washing machine and came back alive .. :-)
