Check out the link below. It lists the fastest drives currently available. I know that these are not locally avbl but hey, a regd dealer might just start a GO if there's enough interest.

USB Flash Drive - Memory - Keychain - Thumb drives

I don't know what Corsair has done to it's Voyager GT line(it's not listed on their product webpage anymore though it was an amazing product and is still rated among the top drives).

Personally, I would prefer the OCZ or the Lexar drives' form factor v/s the newly launched Survivor series from Corsair. (I don't feel like carrying a tube everywhere I go. I'm not sure it would appeal to others too.)

Go ahead and Corsair Voyager 4gb, It's available with Phoenix for Rs.900+85. Its worth every penny u spend. Also It has 10yrs warranty!!.

I've compared both transcend and Sandisk Cruzer with Corsair Voyager and it beats them in every area. Corsair Voyager is very tough & rugged too.

I made three of my friends buy it and they are really really happy with it.I have 2gb and 4gb Voyager and both give a speed of 31-32mbps.

Another vote for buffalo. :)

Get it, you wont regret it.

I REGRET IT !!

I got my Buffalo 4GB from Prime a few days back for 1250/- and it gives high speed only when running benchies, but when copying files I get low speeds - around 5 MB/s. I got this as a replacement for another Buffalo which was giving 1.5MB/s :(

Really? 5 Mbps? That's too bad.

There was this link on some forum showing the speed of a Toshiba USB drive. (I can't seem to find it now. The guy who posted used some CrystalMark1 benchmark.) Anyone out here using Toshiba USB drives?

YUP !! 5 measly MB per sec :(

This months issue of PC World (India) also says this about the 8MB Buffalo in their tests of 4 Pen drives. Good in Benchies but slow for real file transfers.

A while ago, I'd read that there's no consistency among these USB drives with the parts used for certain companies. i.e. the flash memory varies from device to device in terms of company and performance. This was very evident some time ago with Kingston I believe and they'd even promised consistency with their top end series only i.e. the DataTraveler Elite.

To be honest, I would avoid products from such companies. It's not ethical.

well I'd tell you to avoid all Kingston flash drives as they suck. if you doubt chips and all, why not go for Corsair Voyager GT? minimum 17MB write speed(tested for large files)..
