I am looking for a bike..planning f buying 1 in 10 dayz..

i hv 2 options in my mind

1. Karizma R

2. RE Thunderbird twinspark

I cant think abt ne oder bike..as none wld suit me..as i am a 100+ kg. person n 6 feet tall..

I had 2 rule out thunderbird TS mainly bcoz f it availability(1st week october)

nd its chrome rusting prob.

I hv my eyes on the karizma R..

Now is this d right time..coz i hrd frm sumwr that HH wld b launching it new bike with dual discs, twinspark nd all 250cc..

Im totally confused...

r there ne other bikes that luk smart nd handsome..???

Karizma on-road hr in gurgaon is 74940/-

nd thunderbird ts on-road is 97125/-

W8ng for expert comments...

it's zma for u mate..no comparison.
there's P220..but reliability is an issue.

Go for it. even though it is seven yrs old, it still the best bike that we can buy. But u might wanna change the rear tyre ASAP. It's knownto be really bad on wet road, lots of aquaplaning.

The TBird is a very comfy bike but needs constant attention. If taken care of, it can be very reliable for long trips. A friend of mine complete 40000km in a single year on his thunderbird. If you want a cruiser, get it. If you want something for in city use that is very reliable, get the karizma.

It needs to prove itself in Indian market..something like P220.

But zma and TB are way too different bikes.
ZMA will give u peace of mind, superb accn and sporty riding position. It's very good for long drives too. U can do all sort of stunts on it and that superb Honda engine will serve u for decades.

TB is for more relaxed, enjoy the view and most inportantly "FEEL LIKE GOD" ride. It's heavy so not as easy to manage incase of hard braking and cornering. Also TB TS lacks the classic thump of cast Iron engine.
Though newr REs need less but they do need regular attention.

It's ur call , what do u want? IMAGE or Performance.
Test ride both and decide. that's the way.

@aditya_bha

please try to post in readable english as some people might find it difficult to understand what you are trying to say.

you will get much more replies if everybody understands your post.
I could understand your post but really got frustrated at the end.

personally I would prefer karizma over the thunderbird.

first decide what you want. a sports bike or a bike like bullet.

if its sports bike and you have enough money to buy, then I would suggest yamaha r15. else you can buy karizma eyes closed.

I cant comment on bullet since I've never ridden one.

i want a bike basically for city riding purpose...
i hv driven both the bikes nd found zma much much faster,, whereas TB was a bit slow in pick up..but was v comfortable nd has all the classic looks..

the only thing that is confusing me is..that incase HH stops its prod..then no availability of spare parts nd no proper service etc etc..this is the only thing refraining me of buying the zma...

All in all, you've summarised it quite well save for the quoted line.

The new Thunderbird Twinspark comes with the new Unit Construction Engine. So, like regular bikes, it has a common crankspace for the engine, clutch, and gearbox. Basically, maintenance is supposed to be a piece of cake.

Also, I don't know what is the deal is of Enfields needing more maintenance. They are possibly the easiest bikes to maintain. I've had an AVL Machismo for over two years now and apart from the regular 3k km servicing, I don't "maintain" the bike as such. The bike works like a charm.

After reading that I will Say You go with RE, You Have the personality to Own One mate  ZMA anyone can buy, But You gotta have a Build to look Good on RE. And somewhere in between you mentioned You liked the comfy of RE... :D
ZMA may be faster, zipper than RE, but Finally what counts is How much comfortable you are with your Bike.... :D

So i say GO RE... Matches You.... :D

even I am a 104kg guy :( ,I tried RE(classic) and I must say ,it is very comfortable.but for city commuting ,this is a definite NO NO.also you need to be a mechanic to take care of the classic.parts falling off is the main problem Enfield faces.

ZMA is [...] .next option is pulsar200/220.I own one myself(p180).go hunt !even if RE it is a good option ,provided you know what bull throws at you :D

although ,pulsar is sooo common ,it is a good bike.remember ,I know people cribbed about RX100 during its golden days.same with pulsars too,

there r many flaws in pulsar 220cc as of now..
so im setting my mind for a karizma...

^ :S .zma ? procuring some spares for this bike is almost impossible(now itself !).everything you have to get from HH auth service.also ,this is a old bike compared. today morning itself ,I saw a yellow zma owner with my mech struggling to find some long screws for this bike ! :p

if your mind says 100% towards ZMA ,then fine.if not ,rethink your options :D including p200/220 ,bull ,RTR Fi from TVS(nice city bike!based on original fiero engine).

im not 100% set 2 buy the karizma..

im just thinking of the following:-

1. due to modern technologies hero honda is going to lauch its fi model of karizma..due to this the existing karizma wld become old...

2. i hv nt hrd abt gud customer reviews for the pulsar 220cc ne wr..

3. i find the pulsars very uncomfortable and unreliable for the long run..

4. im not thnkng of the thunderbird coz of availability issues

plz comment on these points guys

you are completely bang on on the points.

1. HH will launch a new FI bike.but when?

2.p220 is a real good bike.I have driven it extensively.they fixed almost all problems.no different build quality etc etc.all rumors.

3.it is true.but once you got accustomed ,no problems.

4.I'd say ,rather you buy a normal AVL 350 model.:hap2:

between both the bikes get KARIZMA .
though it was launched 7yrs before ......it was being put for test on indian road for 4yrs .

see also HONDA UNICORN .
will be less costly and give good mileage .
very smooth bike.
engine reliable as ZMA .
but less POWER as to ZMA .
n as to me ZMA looks better than UNI .
but UNICORN is good for person like you (tall) its weights 2kg less than ZMA .
UNI wt. is 146KG. while ZMA 150kG (kerb weights) UNI fuel tank capicity 13ltr while ZMA 15ltr.
