I am planning to buy my first car. Can you people please tell me which one to go for around 4-4.5lacs

I am quite impressed with I10 magna, the Lt version of beat and also cheking out the Gass version of spark and santro ...
Can you people also tell if thr are any problem with the LPG versions of the cars because i have heard that it is not good for the engines

If you dont care abt the tag of latest, then def Santro petrol version.

Accessorize it properly with the extra cash u ll be left with. Always go for the car which u can maintain and use to the fullest rather than opting for something of an entry level in any segment.

The biggest problem with LPG version wd be the availability of filling station. And by that i dont mean only the area where u reside in, but also need to consider the times when you take the car for some good distance travelling.

Under 5Lakhs... Where do you live.. I mean if you live in a low tax area you can have i10 sportz in under 5 lakhs.... I personally feel that for under 5lakh category i10 and Maruti Ritz are the best options...

Beat does indeed have a very lazy pick up. That's why I dropped it when I was picking a car for myself. But then I moved on to i20 sportz. Dropped that and bought a second hand Linea emotion, as good as new though.

After all this I realized something. I'm never gonna buy a new car again. Why the hell should I face the brunt of depreciation, the first owner can face that, then I'll buy the car. :)

only if you know the history of the car :ohyeah:

^Thats why I got it checked at the service station and all the papers were in order and it felt nice.

Though frankly I'm sort of thinking of dumping it and getting polo 1.6 when it is out. Dunno why but I'm madly in love with that car.

@OT: I'd say go for Figo. It is doing very well. I don't really like the ritz.

Nissan micra is for girls, You would have to be very very very good looking to even have a chance to look good in that car.

haha... Why don't you think of it this way... We make the cars look good :D

Ford Figo Diesel, Titanium Variant.

If you need petrol, get a Maruti Ritz VXI ABS version.

Atleast that is what is on my shopping list for next few months :).

Well for the first car the i10 is superb. Easy to drive and very reliable.

But you need to consider other factors too.

if you have a big family and need more space or u plan to do a lot of long drives, then i would suggest some bigger cars like Indica Vista or Ford Figo.

Indica Vista, just like any other Tata cars, have the worst interior quality. Especially the dashboard plastic stuff; they look like they've made in a the same factory, where the cheap toys for kids are made of. Same with door trims, power window buttons. And after some time, you'd start hearing irritating noises of metal rails of the seats, even in your slightest moves.

I have one in the family. I wanted to go for the Swift (and Punto wasn't available at that time too). But dad wanted space. But Now he regrets his decision a bit.
