looks like i need to decide between 4770, 4850 nd GTS250..

Any clue about whats the power requirement for 4850?nd also do u think tht its a good idea to get the card from UK, considering the regional warranty issue?

awl 3 cards will work on ur PSU..so i will recommend GTS250 cuz its better den rest 2 cards (GTS250 > HD4850 > HD4770)

even i got my card (XFX 9800GT XXX Ed.) frm UK n i got warranty on it..m using dis card frm more den a yr now n till now i haven't faced ne prob..soo i dunno yet how v deal wid warranty n awl thing :D but yaa i got warranty on my card..

To be on a safer side, coz of CM500, I suggest 4770, bit of OCing on Catalyst CC and it is as good as 4850, and also comparatively low power consumption and less heat.

I did do some more researching and I guess GTS250 is a better option..the only deciding factor now is the price these cards...

Another thing i wanted to know is about the memory of the cards...is the price difference between 512MB nd 1Gb card worth the performance?

GTS250 1GB is 1k costlier den GTS250 512mb..for low end or mid range cards 1 GB memory isn't of much use(after looking at price difference)..so in my view, 512mb will b enough :cool2:

^ whats so insane about the price :S :| both cards cost same , 7-7.5k .

@ OP - get corsair CX400 + GTS 250 , total approx 10k

My PSU shows 18a+18a=36a i.e. combined power from 12v1 nd 12v2...in that case my PSU shuld be able to handle GTS250...or did i get it wrong?

u wil get it only when u dont use other rails....CM xP 500W is gud budget psu which delivers it rated power...different from CM xp 460W ...i bought mine for sweet Rs2300

GTS250 & HD4850 are slightly better than 4770 but then its consumes less power and less heat.i would suggest you to go with 4770 it will work fine with your current rig.

Hey guys...I might be digging up an fairly old topic here but then dint wanna start another one for the doubt that I had...

My query was, does HDMI cable transmit both audio and video from an ATI graphic card when connected to a TV?

I have seen way too much of the xtreme power series hatred..I would love to know the source of such anti-cm extreme psu behavior. im not sayig that you guys are wrong but i really want to know the truth of it, as I myself have a Cm extreme power+ 500w.

^^ That's because too many people have lost PSU/ other hardware when they used CM Extreme power series (mainly the 600W one). No ones saying anything about the other CM PSU's like the the Real Power series. Its just the extreme power series that's bad. For one, the CM Extreme Power 600W is in reality sold as a 500W PSU by the OEM. CM choose to mark it 600W.

As for the Thread Starters question, I would suggest either a GTX 260+ or HD 4870/4850. I would strongly recommend against GTS250. If I am right its only a re badged 9800GTX+ which again is little more than a die shrinked and overclocked version of 9800GTX. Whats the point of going for so old technology at this stage.

I am not sure whether CM 500W can handle either of the GPU's I suggested, but I wouldn't trust a CM extreme power PSU with a 4850 or GTS250 either.
