hey bro........ get the gtx 260 on sli as that would beat anything out there {price/performance ratio} considering that the gtx 295 is somewhere around 30k and gtx 260 setup would cost u more or less around 23k... and please make sure that u get a SLI certified MOBO and not a crossfire one

Thanks guys but I didn't get my answer..'

I asked can I use nvidia cards in crossfire or Amd cards in sli...'

Next is what abt 2*hd 4870 in crossfire or gtx 260 in sli... Also a good mobo with model no and prices 4 the hardwares....'

To use Nvidia cards in sli you will need a motherboard with a nvidia chipset.

For example the 680i , 790i chipset etc

To run Ati cards in crossfire you need a motherboard with a Intel Chipset .

For example the P35 , P45 , X48 etc

Now if you get a Core i7 processore based system with the Intel x58 chipset it will be possible to do both Crossfire Or Sli on the same motherboard as the X58 chipset can accomodate both types of Configs. Sli or Xfire.

Just make sure the motherboard you buy supports them both.

95 % of x58 motherboards in the market today support both Sli and Xfire so there should be no real issue about that.

Hope this sorts the confusion out sir :)

cheers

Thanks bro....' u got it.. But I don't have a i7 rig...,

I am planning 4 Amd phenom rid but confused with phenom 940 and 955 proccy as 955 Is ddr3 based and it is a grt overclocker proccy as 940 is ddr2 based and also a good oc proccy

Now btwn one will b in my rig with a 790 gx chipset based mobo with xfire support...'

Now which card to go 4 in xfire setup...?

Pay Rs. 30,000 and just get a GTX 295. Fastest card in personal computing. Or you can for a cheap card with 1gb Graphic memory and wait till ATI starts selling there HD 5 xxxx series.

For CFx, the best option is the HD4770.

However, for single card, I would suggest an HD4890(the OC one with 900c/1000m) as this card fits in very well, beating the GTX275 in many games and consuming much much lesser power.

u should get 2 x gts 250 or 2 x gtx 260 if u are getting sli board .

there are not much choices for SLI on AMD phenom boards . and they phenom 2 cant give good performance with crossfire or sli until u overclock it to 3.6ghz+ , .

best would be to get X58 + core i7 and GTS 250 sli which is only 5-10% slower than GTX 260 sli . even on stock clocks core i7 is enough for multi gpu . and it will give better performance than phenom 2 + SLI .
