Hello friends. Need some advice here.

I am in my final year MCA and right now doing my 6 months internship program with a start-up company. I am currently working on a .NET project. I basically work from home and I am free most of the day. I am really confused on where should I start my career from. Over a period of time I have started developing interest in .NET. I a free period of 3-4 months before I start applying for companies. I am thinking of completing a few certifications which will help my job profile as a .NET developer. I am really confused what certification to go for.

Go for the standard MS certifications. While they are no match for real experience, they will definitely help you with brightening up your CV. Another plus point is that many companies these days have started expecting these certifications for any kind of starting (or less-experienced) positions.

This page should provide you all the information you need - Visual Studio Certification | Microsoft Learning. Basically, if you are not familiar, you start with individual exams which add up to give you a title such as MCTS and MCPD.

Don't use these certifications just as a stamp on your CV but more as the last time when you finally learn stuff. Once you start working, the learning part gets quite limited. The work will become quite focused and you may not get that much a chance to experiment and fool around.
