Which is the best and secure courier service to ship mobile phone?
Shipping from Delhi.
Also, do they give any proof that the item has been delivered?

Bluedart costly but one of the best in india, but now they have this weird rules to declare mobile phone value with it....

Almost all couriers have full tracking now.

But FedEx and bluedart are safe. Dtdc is also OK but just in big cities.

What should be the approx rate? I checked in FedEx with shipping to Mumbai, weight .5kg and it was almost 1k.
No need of a hurry in delivery but the rate should be less, I think.

For Delhi to Mumbai use DTDC Prime time plus (assured delivery within 12PM next day). Cost will be 360 Rs for 0.5KG plus 2% of the declared value as insurance.

Else try TNT.

Blue Dart etc are good but costly.

Aramex is good too. But slower.

I got a quote of Rs.2700 from Bluedart to ship a phone from Bangalore to Vadodara. The phone's value was only 10k. Moreover they wanted me to sign a form which basically said that they would not be held responsible if it got lost.

Bluedart is the best to ship phones. But the prob is ,some bluedart offices in Bangalore won't accept phones , even if they do they charge more , try Malleshwaam office they accept it. I have shipped few phones :)
Declare it as used phone and reduce the value ... It will around 300 bucks for 0.5 kg :)
But 2.7 k ? !!!
It's insane bro

@harish.awe
I got that quote from their call center. How much do you normally declare as the value of your phones? I would gladly pay 300 bucks.

Around 2-4k, you better check with your local office , than calling customer service :) coz they say bullshit... Even I got the same reply when I called :D

1) BlueDart
2) Overnite Priority (next day delivery), Tamper Proof Safety Pouch, Assured On-Time Delivery, 100% Money Back Guarantee, SMS Confirmation

So, it seems that Bluedart is best!
Can someone tell me any branch of Bluedart which accepts Mobile phone without asking for exorbitant amount? ( I was given a quote of around 1500Rs if the phone is valued below 8k).
Would prefer branch in Thane or Mumbai(Lower Parel/Elphinston).

Okay, what I am going to ask might be silly but then too I want to know, why do you even need to tell the courier guy what is there inside the box? I mean by not telling you could save a load of money, if you say its a phone or something else, it wouldn't matter would it? I mean they are going to deliver it to the recipent no matter what is inside ? Then why to tell?

Secondly, why can't a person use speedpost for sending a phone, I sent an archos media player worth 3.5K and it reached safe and sound then what's the harm in sending a phone?

Because they scan the packages randomly at their office and at Airport. If they find that the packet contains something valuable which is not declared properly they can simply steal it and if you complain they will issue you a Rs. 100 refund as per their T&C.

^ okay and incase you do tell them that you are sending a mobile phone, they will charge you something like 1k or 2k just for the insurance, right??

Does such scanning take place with speedpost also?

You need to tell courier guys regarding the contents of the package because they need to know what's inside (something to do with the law AFAIK) and second so that they can take a proper care for the package and declaring correct value is important so that you can claim the insurance or refund if something bad happens.

Can't say about speedpost about expensive items...

Have you told them that it's mobile inside?

If yes, why there is differential treatment for same courier?
Agree that they are different franchisees, but there are policies which have to be followed by every franchisee.
