According to Intel's docs to manufacturers, it will be available to consumers by July 16th.

All E6x50's and Q6600's and a few Xeons are going to be G0 by July 16th.

Not sure about the ones which will be available in India though.

Hopefully there will be some marking on the box.

Thanks Ad1^^ At that price (280 US should be around 15K by the time it gets here) I can consider the q6600. Since I'm not too keen on OCing I don't think I'd have too much trouble...

wouldn't mind a couple of super pi benchies @ 3G though ;)

Do you think these prices will come into force immediately of take a couple of months after?

Also I'm considering going 4 GB, Is this wise as of now? I know this is OT but...

^^Ad1 I'm sure those were farcry scores...pls do a google and check the e6600 vs the q6600 scores...I'll also move my lzy a$$ and try to find the link.

arre sala are you going to contribute something useful or just keep getting a last word @ me :P

Koi kaam ka nahi...:bleh:

I asked if the 4GB makes sense now??

Also will the ballistix 1066 do 800 MHz @ 4-4-4-12 or less (they do 5-5-5-15 @ 1066)?

^^ Depends on when you will upgrade again.

4GB makes sense, if your not going to upgrade it for 1-2 year.

Else you can always buy 2GB now, and add 4GB after 6 months.

4GB does make sense if your going Vista X64. :).

Thanks again...

OK brought my P5B Dlx to office today and flashed it to the latest BIOS 1101. All done no failed flash, or other errors :D

One of the past flash versions 1004 to be exact is said to provide support for the E0 i.e. 1333 FSB Core 2 Duo's, so I think the e6750 should work fine now.

Erm there was this annoying problem, it seems my chassis intrusion pins are bent a bit and the jumper shorting them doesn't serve its purpose. This wasn't letting me get further. To resolve it I bent both the pins slightly away from each other. Now the jumper fits snug and no issues :D Thankfully over 2.5 yrs of warranty remain so I don't think there'll be any issues. btw I got the mobo with the pins bent, probably happended during transit...

I am in a similar bind. So what is the consensus?
Is it the Q6600 or the newer dual cores for about 12-15K?
I have the ultra 120 and a nice fan but how hot do the currents quads get?
At this point I do not do anything that will need a quad but then I probably will not upgrade for the next couple of years atleast. So cant decide.
Any advice will be most welcome.
